Shelly 1PM Gen4 is a single-channel smart relay with electric energy measurement, which is mounted in an installation box behind a switch or socket. You can turn on the connected circuit from your mobile, by voice, or according to a schedule, and at the same time you can see how much energy it consumes.
You will appreciate the measurement especially with electric heating. You have an overview of how much the convector, infrared panel, or electric heater consumes within the relay's limit, and according to the actual numbers you can adjust the heating times. In the case of higher loads, a contactor should be used.
Unlike the Shelly 1 Gen4 model, it does not have a no-voltage contact: the output is powered from the same circuit as the relay. It is therefore not suitable for direct connection to the boiler's terminals for a room thermostat. Safety is enhanced by built-in protection against overload, overvoltage, and overheating.
It supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ax, Bluetooth 5, Zigbee and Matter and can be integrated into Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings or Home Assistant. The device runs 20 time programs, 20 webhooks, scripts and MQTT even without a constant cloud connection.
Installation and wiring
- Dimensions 37 × 42 × 16 mm allow installation in a standard installation box.
- Screw terminals for conductors 0.5–4 mm², insulation stripping length 6–7 mm.
- When powered from the grid, it is necessary to connect the neutral conductor as well. The circuit must be protected by a circuit breaker with characteristic B or C with a rated current of max. 16 A.
- Connection to the electrical grid must be performed only by a person with the appropriate electrical qualification.
