Shelly 1PM Gen4 is a single-channel smart relay with electrical energy metering, installed in a flush-mounting box behind a switch or socket. You can switch the connected circuit on from your phone, by voice or on a schedule, and see at the same time how much energy it uses.
The metering is especially valuable for electric heating. You see how much a convector, infrared panel or electric heater draws within the relay's limit, and you can adjust heating times based on real figures. For a heavier load, use a contactor.
Unlike the Shelly 1 Gen4, it has no potential-free (dry) contact: the output is powered from the same circuit as the relay. It is therefore not intended for direct connection to the boiler terminals for a room thermostat. Safety is increased by built-in protection against overload, overvoltage and overheating.
It supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ax, Bluetooth 5, Zigbee and Matter and can be added to Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings or Home Assistant. The device runs 20 schedules, 20 webhooks, scripts and MQTT even without a constant cloud connection.
Installation and wiring
- Dimensions of 37 × 42 × 16 mm allow installation in a standard flush-mounting box.
- Screw terminals for conductors of 0.5–4 mm², strip length 6–7 mm.
- When mains-powered, the neutral wire must also be connected. The circuit must be protected by a circuit breaker with B or C characteristic and a rated current of max. 16 A.
- Connection to the mains may only be carried out by a person with the appropriate electrical qualification.
