Shelly H&T Gen3 is a compact temperature and humidity sensor in white that shows you the real climate in a room and sends the same reading to your phone. It is worth having wherever you want to keep an eye on heating room by room: in a bedroom, a nursery, a bathroom or a colder room where moisture lingers and mould can appear.

The values appear on an e-paper display that uses very little power and is easy to read from the side or in weak light. Besides temperature and humidity it also shows the time, the battery level and the signal strength.

The sensor communicates over Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and needs no central unit. Bluetooth 4.2 makes the first setup easier. It works with Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Samsung SmartThings, and more advanced users can use MQTT and webhooks.

Through webhooks the sensor can send a command to another Shelly device when the set temperature or humidity is exceeded, for example to a relay that switches on an electric heater or a fan.

Power and installation

• Four AA (LR6) 1.5 V batteries last about 1 year; battery life depends on the batteries, temperature changes and signal strength. Batteries are not included in the package.
• Continuous power via USB-C (adapter and cable not included). The port does not charge batteries.
• Place it on a flat surface using the stand or fix it to a wall with screws or double-sided foam tape.

Frequently asked questions

Can the sensor control a boiler by itself?
No, it has no switching output. It controls a boiler through another device, such as a Shelly relay, to which it sends a command by webhook.

Do I need a gateway or hub?
No, a home Wi-Fi network is enough.

Can it be used outdoors?
No, it is designed for indoor use at temperatures from 0 to 40 °C and humidity of 30 to 70 % RH.
