1902
The Hungarian Siemens-Schuckert factories, the first Siemens factory for the production of generators, electric machines, equipment and transformers in Slovakia, were established. Its establishment was prompted by an order for electric lighting for the then 65,000 inhabitants of Bratislava.
1912
An electric tram with parts and electrical components manufactured by Siemens began to run between Poprad and Starý Smokovec in the High Tatras.
1915
Siemens provided technologies for the steam power plant in Poprad, built for the Tatranské electric railways
1928
Siemens provided electrical equipment for the fully electrified Bratislava hotel Carlton including a direct current power plant.
1929
Before the outbreak of the great economic crisis, Siemens employed 1,400 people in Slovakia and produced practically all the first electrical equipment in Slovakia. It thus significantly contributed to the electrification of the country.
1931
The Prešov electric street railway could not do without the products of the Siemens-Schuckert company either.
1945
The objects of the Siemens factory were heavily damaged by fire and wartime events. After three months of effort, the factory began to work again on July 18.
1948
After nationalization, the Bratislava electrical engineering factories were created from the Siemens factory. The company's ties with Slovakia after World War II weakened, but did not break.
1984
The first computer tomography device of the Siemens brand at the Faculty Hospital with Polyclinic F. D. Roosevelt in Banská Bystrica brought revolutionary possibilities of modern disease diagnosis. It saw into the human body like no other device before it.
1993
The establishment of Siemens s.r.o. marked the official resumption of the multinational corporation's representation in the country. A sharp rise in investments and large production and trade projects followed. Siemens joined the ranks of the largest foreign investors in Slovakia.
1994
The company signed contracts for large energy projects at nuclear power plants in Jaslovské Bohunice and Mochovce.
1995
Successful completion of medical equipment deliveries to 52 hospitals
1997
Modernization and reconstruction of the public lighting in Bratislava. Siemens was one of the first companies to bring light to the night streets in Slovak cities.
1998
The start of operation of the Bratislava Combined Cycle Power Plant, equipped with modern technologies by Siemens. It replaced the old, environmentally unfriendly power plant that burned fuel oil.
2000
Delivery of the safety system for the Railways of the Slovak Republic.
2002
The start of operation of the renovated municipal waste incineration plant in Bratislava, which thanks to Siemens technologies is among the most modern in Central Europe.
2004
Completion of the digitization of the telephone network of the dominant operator Slovak Telecom, in which Siemens played a large part. At that time, every second telephone conversation was guaranteed by Siemens technologies.
2005
Siemens implemented automation projects for production lines and factories at Volkswagen Bratislava and PSA Peugeot Citroën Trnava. In addition, it put into operation the first electronic station SIMIS W at the railway station in Trnava.
2009
The group became a technological partner of the most modern hospital in Slovakia Medissimo. The revolutionary mammograph Mammomat Inspiration is the most modern and most efficient device for diagnosing breast cancer.
2011
In a record three years, Siemens built a new combined cycle power plant in Malženice as a turnkey project, which supplies environmentally clean electricity to approximately 900,000 households. The power plant is among the most modern in Europe.
