SilverCloud 850VA is a backup power supply with a clean sine wave output. The manufacturer has designed it for the protection of solid fuel boilers, motor-driven devices, and other electronics sensitive to short and longer power outages – including circulation pumps and heating control units. The power output is 850 VA (600 W).
The battery is not included in the package. The UPS connects to an external lead-acid battery 12 V with a capacity of 30 to 200 Ah, so you determine the backup duration by the battery size. The connecting cables (red and black, each 80 cm) and battery clamps are included.
The input can handle a mains voltage of 140–280 V, the inverter output is 230 V (± 2 %), and in AVR mode the voltage remains within the range of 195–245 V. Switching to the battery typically takes 6 ms, maximum 10 ms. The LCD display with a menu shows the status, and via USB and the Power Monitor software, the UPS can be monitored from a computer. The power supply protects against overload, short circuit, overheating, excessive battery charging or discharging, and also has a telephone line protection.
Connection and Limitations
The two Schuko sockets together can handle 600 W. Connecting the battery and connecting to the mains should be done by a person with electrical qualifications. In case of overload of 110–125 %, the power supply turns off after 30 seconds, and faster at higher loads. The alarm volume is at most 60 dB.
