PNI CT36 PRO is a smart wireless thermostat for central heating with a winter/summer mode, meaning it can switch between heating and cooling. The set consists of a central unit with a large backlit display and a receiver unit that you connect with a cable to the boiler and power it from the 230 V grid. The units exchange data via radio at 868 MHz and the thermostat connects to the home router via WiFi at 2.4 GHz. The Tuya Smart app then allows you to monitor the temperature and change it regardless of whether you are at work, on vacation, or far from home.

The small hysteresis of the thermostat means a smaller difference between the highest and lowest temperatures in the house, resulting in better thermal comfort. For this model, the hysteresis (dead zone) is 0.1 °C.

Smartphone Control

The mobile app Tuya Smart will always show you the temperature at home and allow you to change the desired value. It is compatible with iOS from version 9 and Android from version 4.2. It is important that the WiFi router operates at a frequency of 2.4 GHz.

Temperature Programming

You can freely switch between operating modes: constant temperature, daily programming or weekly programming with 4 time slots for each day. You can thus have a different program each day depending on when you leave or return home. An example of four time slots in one day: 06:00 – 23 degrees, 08:00 – 22 degrees, 17:00 – 23 degrees and 23:00 – 22 degrees. You can set the program directly on the thermostat and in the mobile app.

With the anti-frost protection feature, you can leave the boiler in the care of the thermostat without worry. When open window or door detection (OWD) is enabled in advanced settings, the system automatically stops heating if it detects a sudden drop in temperature, by default 2 °C within 15 minutes.

On the receiver, press and hold the button until LED 1 starts blinking rapidly. Then turn off the controller and press the menu button until the code appears on the display, and press the menu button again. When LED 1 stops blinking, pairing is complete.

Usage and Installation

The thermostat is intended for central heating. The central unit can be placed on a stand or mounted on a wall, the receiver unit belongs on a wall. The package includes both units, a wall mount bracket, a table stand, mounting screws and a user manual. The receiver unit is able to close a classic NO control circuit of a heating device, provided the relay limit of 12 – 240 V AC/DC at 10 A is met. We recommend that the electrical connection of the receiver be carried out by a professional.
