PNI CT36 is a smart wireless thermostat for central heating. It consists of a central unit with a large backlit display and a receiver unit connected to the boiler via a cable and powered by 230 V. Both units communicate with each other via radio at 868 MHz, so there is no need to run any signal cable between the room and the boiler. The thermostat connects to your home router via WiFi and can be operated from anywhere using the Tuya Smart app.

Compared to the CT35 model, CT36 has a smaller hysteresis. The narrower the dead zone of the thermostat, the smaller the difference between the highest and lowest temperature in the house, and the more comfortable it is to live there.

Control via App

The Tuya Smart app (or Smart Life) will always show you the current temperature at home and allow you to adjust the thermostat from anywhere, even from work or another location. It can be used on devices with iOS from version 9 and Android from version 4.2. It is important that the WiFi router operates at a frequency of 2.4 GHz.

Programming and Safety Functions

You can switch operating modes freely: maintain a constant temperature or use daily or weekly scheduling. Thanks to the anti-frost function, you can safely leave the boiler under the control of the thermostat. If you enable open window or door detection (OWD) in the advanced settings, the thermostat will automatically stop heating in the event of a sudden temperature drop. By default, this is a drop of 2 °C within 15 minutes.

Pairing the Units

Press and hold the button on the receiver until LED 1 starts blinking rapidly. Then turn off the controller and press the menu button until a code appears on the display, and press the menu button once more. When LED 1 stops blinking, the pairing is complete.

Usage and Installation

The thermostat is intended for central heating. The central unit can be placed on a table stand or mounted on the wall using a bracket, while the receiver unit is mounted on the wall. The package includes both units, a wall bracket, a table stand, mounting screws, and a user manual. The receiver unit is able to close a classic NO control circuit of a heating device, provided the relay limits of 12 – 240 V AC/DC at 10 A are met. The electrical connection of the receiver should be performed by a qualified technician.

What batteries does the central unit require?

Two LR3/AAA batteries. They are not included in the package.

What happens when a window is opened?
