T-piece 90° PRESS with internal thread Rp 1/2" IVAR.IVN442 – stainless steel AISI 304, 54 mm
Code: IVN442.541254Product detailed description
The T-piece IVAR.IVN442 in the size 54 mm – Rp 1/2" – 54 mm creates a 90° branch on a stainless steel pipe, which is finished with an internal thread instead of a pressing collar. Both transition ends are pressed onto a pipe of the same diameter 54 mm – the fitting is not reduced. A component with an external thread connects directly to the Rp 1/2" thread.
The fitting is made of stainless steel 1.4301 (AISI 304) and the pressing collars are sealed with EPDM O-rings. The body is marked with the logo AISI 304, the dimensions, a traceability code, and a symbol indicating that the product is not intended for potable water.
The O-rings in the LBP (Leak Before Press) version have a broken profile, so an unpressed joint will leak water during a pressure test. Together with the orange pressing indicator stripe, an unpressed joint can be detected even before the system is put into operation.
Application
- closed heating and cooling systems
- solar systems
- compressed air and vacuum systems
- inert and technical gases
- technical and operational liquids, industrial applications
- sewage and rainwater
The circuit may contain an antifreeze mixture with a concentration of up to 50%. The T-piece is not intended for potable water distribution.
Installation and pressing
Joints are pressed using contour M. For a diameter of 54 mm, chain pliers with at least three segments and a suitable adapter are required – the manufacturer does not accept standard single-piece pliers for this size. Profile V is excluded.
Cut the pipe perpendicular to the axis, thoroughly clean it inside and outside, and mark the insertion depth with a marker. Seal the thread using only materials free of chlorides, such as PTFE tape or hemp fiber with a chloride-free paste. Follow the system installation instructions and flush the entire circuit before commissioning; the manufacturer also recommends treating the water with the preparation GEL.LONG LIFE 100.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use the T-piece IVAR.IVN442 for potable water distribution?
No. The AISI 304 stainless steel version is not suitable for potable water according to the manufacturer, as indicated by the symbol on the fitting. It is intended for heating, cooling, solar circuits, compressed air, and technical gases or liquids.
What should I use to seal the Rp 1/2" thread on the branch?
The system installation instructions allow only sealing materials free of chlorides – PTFE tape without chlorides, hemp with sealing paste without chlorides, or sealing tape without chlorides. Chlorides increase the risk of stainless steel corrosion.
Which pressing pliers do I need for the size 54 mm?
Chain pliers with contour M and at least three segments, usually with a transition adapter. The manufacturer does not accept single-piece pliers for diameters from 42 mm and contour V is prohibited.
How can I recognize a joint I forgot to press?
There is an orange pressing indicator on the collars and an LBP O-ring, which allows the liquid to leak during a pressure test until the joint is pressed. The error is thus detected even before the system is put into operation.

IVAR designs, develops and manufactures highly energy-efficient heating and plumbing systems. We have over 10,000 catalogue items - mass-produced products and unique items - in addition to customised systems and combinations of complex products. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Vision
To make life easier for our clients, our clients' customers and our employees, thanks to our ability to be constantly innovative.
Mission
To design and manufacture advanced hydronic solutions that reduce installation complexity and energy consumption.
“Made in Italy” adds value
IVAR has been producing heating and plumbing system components since 1985: valves for heating bodies, direct heat metering modules, heat cost allocators, pipes and fittings, substations for heating systems, distribution manifolds, radiant panel systems, and components for solar and geothermal systems. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Over 200 people are employed at our manufacturing facilities in Prevalle (in northern Italy’s Brescia province). The site has been designed to streamline our many production and operational stages.
The Italian headquarters also acts as a hub for the wider IVAR Group, set up with the goal of distributing products beyond Italy’s borders. The group now has 11 branches, in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the United States and Tunisia.
Know How
Research, development and numerous laboratory tests guarantee that our clients’ requests can be translated into new high-efficiency products.
The stages required for production take place internally, beginning with hot forming, which is carried out at our subsidiary Valmon Stampati. Our continuous implementation of projects under the Industry 4.0 initiative also allows us to take full advantage of new releases in technology and IT to improve our manufacturing efficiency.
As a company, IVAR is constantly evolving. Every day, we invest in strengthening our products, in improving our production processes and in attaining new patents and certifications.
