Detailed information

Product detailed description

Vaillant eloMENT VER 250/5 is the most powerful model in the eloMENT VER range, with an output of 2.5 kW, designed for large living rooms, studios or rooms with higher heat loss up to approx. 25 m². Thanks to its output, it can also handle heating of spaces with higher heat loss, large glazed areas or higher ceilings.

This is a flat, universal wall-mounted convector designed for direct electric heating without the need for a water or gas distribution system - simply mount it on the wall using the supplied brackets and plug it into a standard electrical socket. It is therefore an ideal solution wherever it is not possible or advantageous to install classic hot-water heating, or as a supplementary heat source during the transitional season (spring/autumn), when it is not worth running the entire boiler for the sake of a single room.

Technical characteristics

The VER 250/5 model belongs to the eloMENT VER range, which is manufactured in five power levels from 0.75 to 2.5 kW - all share the same design and the same height and depth of the body, differing only in width according to output, so you can choose exactly according to the size and heat loss of the heated room.

  • Rated output - 2.5 kW
  • Power supply - 230 V / 50 Hz, connected via a flexible cord with a plug (Schuko)
  • Dimensions (H × W × D) - 450 × 849 × 100 mm
  • Weight - approximately 9.2 kg
  • Protection rating - IP24 (protection against splashing water, also suitable for bathrooms)
  • Temperature setting range - 5 to 30 °C, continuously adjustable
  • Control - electronic controller with display, daily and weekly program
  • Protective functions - anti-freeze function, overheating protection, double protective insulation
  • Installation - on the wall, using brackets included in the package
  • Operation - quiet, without moving parts and without the need for a water distribution system

Thanks to precise electronic control, the VER 250/5 convector maintains the set room temperature with minimal fluctuations, which, compared to older mechanical (bimetallic) thermostats, results in noticeably more economical operation and higher thermal comfort. The daily and weekly program allows you to set different temperatures for different parts of the day (e.g. lower temperature at night and during absence, higher in the morning and evening), further reducing electricity consumption without loss of comfort.

Installation and mounting

Installing the VER 250/5 convector is simple and does not require the intervention of a qualified electrician or any construction work - simply attach the supplied wall brackets to the wall (masonry, plasterboard with a suitable anchor) and hang the convector at the required height, usually according to the manufacturer's recommendation above floor level. The convector is then connected via a flexible cord to a standard 230 V electrical socket.

During installation, we recommend:

  • Maintaining a safe distance from the bathtub, shower or other water source in accordance with applicable regulations for electrical installations in damp areas (despite the IP24 protection).
  • Choosing a socket on a separate protective circuit if several electrical appliances are to be operated simultaneously in the room.
  • Not covering the convector with furniture, curtains or other textiles that would obstruct the free flow of air around the unit.
  • When installing in a bathroom, placing the control panel out of direct reach of water and in accordance with the zoning of electrical installations in damp areas.

Use and compatibility

The eloMENT VER 250/5 convector is a standalone heating unit - it does not require connection to a heating water distribution system or a gas connection, and operates independently of the building's central heat source. This makes it an ideal solution for:

  • Supplementary heating of individual rooms - for example, an attic room that is far from the central heating distribution.
  • Transitional season - spring and autumn, when it would be wasteful to run the entire house heating system for the sake of a single cooler room.
  • Recreational properties - cottages and cabins with occasional visits, where it pays off to heat only the currently used room.
  • Bathrooms and damp areas - thanks to IP24 protection, also directly near a shower or bathtub (while maintaining safe zones).
  • Offices and commercial spaces - as a local solution where it is not possible or practical to install hot-water heating.

The entire eloMENT VER range (from VER 75/5 to VER 250/5) can be combined with each other within a single building - so you can choose exactly the convector output that a given space needs according to its size and heat loss, without oversizing the entire system.

Maintenance and care

The eloMENT VER 250/5 electric convector does not require any regular servicing in the sense of classic heating technology - it does not contain a burner, flue or mechanical wearing parts, with the exception of the control electronics. Recommended care includes:

  • Occasionally wiping the surface of the unit with a slightly damp cloth (after disconnecting from the mains) and removing dust from the ventilation openings in the lower and upper part of the convector.
  • Checking that the power cord and plug are not damaged, especially if the convector is installed in a damp environment.
  • Not using aggressive cleaning agents or abrasive sponges on the surface of the unit.
  • In the event of a fault in the electronics or control panel, contacting an authorized Vaillant service center, as attempting to intervene inside the unit yourself is neither appropriate nor safe.

Thanks to its simple and durable construction, the service life of eloMENT range convectors is high, which, together with a 2-year warranty, represents a reliable and maintenance-free solution for many years.

Vaillant eloMENT convector versus other supplementary heating methods

There are several ways to locally heat a single room on the market - besides electric convectors, these include, for example, portable fan heaters, oil-filled radiators or infrared panels. Compared to cheap portable fan heaters, the eloMENT convector offers permanent wall mounting, quieter operation without stirring up dust in the air, and more precise electronic temperature control instead of a simple mechanical thermostat. Compared to oil-filled radiators, the eloMENT is significantly more compact, does not take up floor space, and there is no risk of tipping over or oil leakage. Compared to infrared panels, which primarily heat surfaces in direct range of the radiation, the VER 250/5 convector heats the air throughout the entire room more evenly and reacts more quickly to changes in the set temperature.

The choice between individual types of heating units therefore mainly depends on the intended use - for short-term and quick heating of a smaller space, a cheaper portable appliance may also be suitable, while for a more permanent and comfortable solution with lower consumption at the same level of comfort, a branded wall-mounted convector with electronic control, such as the Vaillant eloMENT, is the more advantageous choice in the long run.

Why choose the eloMENT VER 250/5

Vaillant is a brand best known here mainly for its ecoTEC gas condensing boilers, but it brings the same quality of workmanship and thoughtful design to the segment of direct electric heating as well. The eloMENT VER 250/5 convector with an output of 2.5 kW is designed for large living rooms, studios or rooms with higher heat loss up to approx. 25 m², and offers precise electronic control, weekly programming and an anti-freeze function - features often missing from cheaper, unbranded convectors.

Thanks to its flat and unobtrusive design, the convector blends into both modern and classic interiors, and thanks to its low weight and simple installation, you can install it yourself without professional help (however, always have the electrical socket checked or connected by an electrician if there is no socket at the installation location).

Comparison of the entire eloMENT VER range

The VER 250/5 model you are currently viewing is highlighted in the table below along with the rest of the eloMENT VER range. All models have the same height and depth of the body (450 × 100 mm) and the same features - they differ only in output, body width and weight, so you can quickly choose the appropriate output for each room in your home based on the table.

Approximate operating costs

The actual consumption of the convector always depends on the size and insulation of the specific room, the set temperature, and whether it serves as the main or only a supplementary heat source - the following calculation is therefore only approximate. With a model assumption of approximately 1,300 hours of equivalent full-power operation during the heating season, the annual consumption of the VER 250/5 model would reach approximately 3,250 kWh, which, at typical electricity prices ranging from approx. €0.18 to €0.28/kWh, represents approximate annual costs of around €585 - €910, if the convector were the sole heat source in the given room for the entire season.

Since it is usually a supplementary or local heat source (not the main heating for the entire house), the actual operating time, and therefore also the costs, tend to be significantly lower in practice. Savings are further increased by using the weekly program (lower temperature outside occupied hours) and the anti-freeze function instead of full heating output during absence.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about the eloMENT VER 250/5 convector

Can the eloMENT VER 250/5 be used as the only heat source in a room?

Yes, the VER 250/5 convector is designed as a standalone heating unit for large living rooms, studios or rooms with higher heat loss up to approx. 25 m², and can maintain the set room temperature without the need for another heat source, provided the output is appropriate for the size and insulation of the room.

Is the convector suitable for bathrooms?

Yes, thanks to IP24 protection, the convector is resistant to splashing water and is commonly used in bathrooms as well - however, a safe distance from the bathtub, shower and other water sources must be maintained in accordance with applicable regulations for electrical installations in damp areas.

Does the installation have to be carried out by an electrician?

You can manage hanging the convector on the wall and plugging it into an existing socket yourself. An electrician only needs to be called if there is no socket at the installation location or if the electrical installation needs to be modified, especially in damp areas such as bathrooms.

Can a weekly heating program be set?

Yes, the convector has a built-in electronic controller with the option to set both a daily and a weekly program, so you can program different temperatures for different days and parts of the day according to your routine.

How to choose the right convector output according to room size?

As a general guideline, an output of approximately 100 W per m² of area is sufficient for a normally insulated room with standard ceiling height - for rooms with large glazed areas, corner walls or poorer insulation, it is advisable to choose a higher-output model from the eloMENT range.

Is the VER 250/5 also suitable for rooms with high ceilings?

Yes, it is the most powerful model in the eloMENT VER range, suitable precisely for spaces with higher heat loss, including rooms with higher ceilings or larger glazed areas.
