Vaillant eloMENT VER 75/5 electric convector heater 0.75 kW
Code: 0010023955Product detailed description
Vaillant eloMENT VER 75/5 is the smallest model in the eloMENT VER range of wall-mounted electric convectors, with an output of 0.75 kW. Thanks to its compact dimensions and low weight, it is an ideal solution for small bathrooms, toilets or hallways up to approx. 7-8 m², where quick and local additional heating is sufficient without the need to build a water distribution system or connect to a central heat source.
It is a flat, universal wall-mounted convector designed for direct electric heating without the need for a water or gas supply - simply mount it on the wall using the supplied brackets and plug it into a standard electrical outlet. It is therefore an ideal solution wherever it is not possible or advantageous to install classic hot-water heating, or as an additional heat source during the transitional period (spring/autumn), when it is not worth starting up the whole boiler for the sake of one room.
Technical characteristics
The VER 75/5 model belongs to the eloMENT VER range, which is manufactured in five power levels from 0.75 to 2.5 kW - all of them share the same design, height and depth of the unit, differing only in width according to output, so you can choose exactly according to the size and heat loss of the heated room.
- Rated output - 0.75 kW
- Power supply - 230 V / 50 Hz, connection via flexible cable with plug (schuko)
- Dimensions (H × W × D) - 450 × 426 × 100 mm
- Weight - approximately 4.6 kg
- Protection rating - IP24 (protection against splashing water, also suitable for bathrooms)
- Temperature setting range - 5 to 30 °C, continuously adjustable
- Control - electronic controller with display, daily and weekly program
- Protective functions - anti-freeze function, overheating protection, double protective insulation
- Installation - on the wall, using brackets included in the package
- Operation - quiet, without moving parts and without the need for a water supply
Thanks to precise electronic control, the VER 75/5 convector maintains the set room temperature with minimal fluctuations, which, compared to older mechanical (bimetallic) thermostats, brings noticeably more economical operation as well as higher thermal comfort. The daily and weekly program allows setting different temperatures for different parts of the day (e.g. lower temperature at night and during absence, higher in the morning and evening), further reducing electricity consumption without loss of comfort.
Installation and mounting
Installing the VER 75/5 convector is simple and does not require the intervention of a qualified electrician or any construction work - simply attach the supplied wall brackets to the wall (masonry, plasterboard with a suitable anchor) and hang the convector at the desired height, usually according to the manufacturer's recommendation above floor level. The convector is then connected via a flexible cable to a standard 230 V electrical outlet.
During installation, we recommend:
- Maintaining a safe distance from the bathtub, shower or other water source in accordance with applicable regulations for electrical installations in damp areas (despite the IP24 protection).
- Choosing an outlet on a separate protective circuit if simultaneous operation of several electrical appliances is planned in the room.
- Not covering the convector with furniture, curtains or other textiles that would prevent free air flow around the unit.
- When installing in a bathroom, placing the control panel out of direct reach of water and in accordance with the zoning of electrical installations in damp areas.
Use and compatibility
The eloMENT VER 75/5 convector is a standalone heating unit - it does not require connection to a heating water supply or gas connection, and it functions independently of the central heat source in the building. This makes it an ideal solution for:
- Supplementary heating of individual rooms - for example, an attic room that is far from the central heating distribution.
- The transitional period - spring and autumn, when it is a waste to start up the entire house heating system for the sake of one cooler room.
- Recreational properties - cottages and cabins with occasional visits, where it pays to heat only the currently used room.
- Bathrooms and damp areas - thanks to IP24 protection, even directly near a shower or bathtub (while maintaining safe zones).
- Offices and commercial spaces - as a local solution where it is not possible or practical to install hot-water heating.
The entire eloMENT VER range (from VER 75/5 to VER 250/5) can be combined with one another within a single building - this way you can choose exactly the convector output that each room needs according to its size and heat loss, without oversizing the entire system.
Maintenance and care
The eloMENT VER 75/5 electric convector does not require any regular servicing in the sense of classic heating technology - it does not contain a burner, flue or mechanical wear parts, with the exception of the control electronics. Recommended care includes:
- Occasionally wiping the surface of the unit with a slightly damp cloth (after disconnecting from the electrical network) and removing dust from the ventilation openings in the lower and upper part of the convector.
- Checking that the power cable and plug are not damaged, especially if the convector is installed in a damp environment.
- Not using aggressive cleaning agents or abrasive sponges on the surface of the unit.
- In case of malfunction of the electronics or control panel, contacting an authorized Vaillant service center, as it is neither appropriate nor safe to intervene inside the unit yourself.
Thanks to its simple and durable construction, the service life of the eloMENT range convectors is high, which, together with the 2-year warranty, represents a reliable and maintenance-free solution for many years.
Vaillant eloMENT convector versus other heating methods
There are several ways to provide local additional heating to a single room - besides electric convectors, these include portable hot-air fans, oil radiators or infrared panels. Compared to cheap portable fans, the eloMENT convector offers permanent wall mounting, quieter operation without dust circulation in the air, and more precise electronic temperature control instead of a simple mechanical thermostat. Compared to oil radiators, the eloMENT is significantly more compact, does not take up floor space, and there is no risk of tipping over or oil leakage. Compared to infrared panels, which primarily heat surfaces in direct range of the radiation, the VER 75/5 convector heats the air throughout the entire room more evenly and reacts faster to changes in the set temperature.
The choice between individual types of heating units therefore depends mainly on the purpose of use - for short-term, quick heating of a smaller space, a cheaper portable appliance may also be suitable, while for a more permanent and comfortable solution with lower consumption at the same comfort level, a branded wall-mounted convector with electronic control, such as the Vaillant eloMENT, is the more advantageous choice in the long run.
Why choose the eloMENT VER 75/5
Vaillant is a brand known here primarily for its ecoTEC gas condensing boilers, but it brings the same quality of workmanship and thoughtful design to the segment of direct electric heating as well. The eloMENT VER 75/5 convector with an output of 0.75 kW is designed for small bathrooms, toilets or hallways up to approx. 7-8 m² and offers precise electronic control, weekly programming and an anti-freeze function - features often not found in cheaper, unbranded convectors.
Thanks to its flat, unobtrusive design, the convector fits into both modern and classic interiors, and thanks to its low weight and simple installation, you can install it even without professional help (however, always have the electrical outlet inspected or connected by an electrician if there is no outlet available at the installation location).
Comparison of the entire eloMENT VER range
The VER 75/5 model, which you are currently viewing, is highlighted in the table below along with the rest of the eloMENT VER range. All models have the same height and depth of the unit (450 × 100 mm) and the same equipment - they differ only in output, unit width and weight, so you can quickly choose the appropriate output for each room in your home using the table.
| Model | Output | Unit width | Weight | Approximate room area |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| eloMENT VER 75/5 | 0.75 kW | 426 mm | 4.6 kg | approx. 7-8 m² ← this model |
| eloMENT VER 100/5 | 1.0 kW | 426 mm | 4.6 kg | approx. 10 m² |
| eloMENT VER 150/5 | 1.5 kW | 582 mm | 6.0 kg | approx. 15 m² |
| eloMENT VER 200/5 | 2.0 kW | 738 mm | 7.7 kg | approx. 20 m² |
| eloMENT VER 250/5 | 2.5 kW | 849 mm | 9.2 kg | approx. 25 m² |
Approximate operating costs
The actual consumption of the convector always depends on the size and insulation of the specific room, the set temperature, and whether it is the main or only a supplementary heat source - the following calculation is therefore only approximate. Assuming a model of approximately 900 hours of equivalent full-output operation during the heating season, the annual consumption of the VER 75/5 model would reach approximately 675 kWh, which, at common electricity prices in the range of approx. €0.18 - €0.28/kWh, represents approximate annual costs of approximately €122 - €189, if the convector were the only heat source in the room throughout the entire season.
Since it is usually a supplementary or local heat source (not the main heating of the entire house), the actual operating time and thus also the costs are usually significantly lower in practice. Savings are further increased by using the weekly program (lower temperature outside occupied hours) and the anti-freeze function instead of full heating output during absence.
Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions about the eloMENT VER 75/5 convector
Can the eloMENT VER 75/5 be used as the only heat source in a room?
Yes, the VER 75/5 convector is designed as a standalone heating unit for small bathrooms, toilets or hallways up to approx. 7-8 m² and can maintain the set room temperature without the need for another heat source, provided the output is appropriate for the size and insulation of the room.
Is the convector also suitable for bathrooms?
Yes, thanks to IP24 protection, the convector is resistant to splashing water and is commonly used in bathrooms as well - however, a safe distance from the bathtub, shower and other water sources must be maintained in accordance with applicable regulations for electrical installations in damp areas.
Must the installation be carried out by an electrician?
You can manage hanging the convector on the wall and plugging it into an existing outlet yourself. An electrician needs to be called only if there is no outlet available at the installation location or if the electrical installation needs to be modified, especially in damp areas such as a bathroom.
Can a weekly heating program be set?
Yes, the convector has a built-in electronic controller with the option to set both a daily and a weekly program, so you can program different temperatures for different days and parts of the day according to your routine.
How do I choose the right convector output according to room size?
As a rough guide, an output of approximately 100 W per m² of area is sufficient for a normally insulated room with a standard ceiling height - for rooms with large glazed areas, corner walls, or poorer insulation, it is advisable to choose a higher-output model from the eloMENT range.
Is an output of 0.75 kW sufficient even for colder days?
For small spaces up to approx. 7-8 m², yes, since these are well-insulated rooms with low heat loss (e.g. a toilet or hallway). For larger or colder rooms, we recommend a higher-output model from the eloMENT range.
