Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I check that “Vaillant VR 70 - Expansion Module for multiMATIC 700” fits my appliance exactly? The most reliable way is to compare the exact type/catalogue designation on your appliance’s rating plate (boiler, tank, water heater) with the compatibility stated directly in this product’s name (brand VAILLANT) and in its technical parameters above. If in doubt, send us the exact type designation of your appliance (including the serial number, if available) - we will be happy to verify the compatibility for you.
  • Why is it important to use an original/compatible part rather than a universal replacement? Parts such as gaskets, sensors or safety components (safety valves, thermal fuses) are usually dimensioned precisely to the parameters of the specific appliance (pressure, temperature, sensor electrical resistance) - an incorrect part can cause reduced functionality, leaks, or, in the case of safety components, a genuine safety risk.
  • Does this part need to be installed by a professional? For simpler, mechanical parts (e.g. gaskets, covers, small accessories not connected to electricity, gas or the pressurised part) a handy DIY person can usually manage the replacement after disconnecting the appliance from power and supply lines. However, for any intervention in the gas, electrical or pressurised part of the appliance (e.g. sensors located directly in the combustion chamber, safety valves, electrical modules) we always recommend a service technician - especially since such an intervention could affect the validity of the warranty on the whole appliance.
  • How do I recognise that this part is worn and needs replacing? Common signs include visible wear/cracking (for gaskets and rubber parts), a water or flue gas leak at the location of the part, an error message on the control display (for sensors and electronic modules), or a visibly reduced functionality of the appliance (e.g. irregular combustion for burner parts). If in doubt, the safest option is to have the condition assessed by a service technician during the regular annual inspection.
  • Is it worth keeping this part at home as a spare? For parts that are subject to normal wear (gaskets, fuses, small mechanical parts) and whose failure would mean an interruption to heating or hot water, keeping a spare in stock is a reasonable precaution - especially for older appliances, for which it can be more difficult to obtain a part quickly.

Very distinctive brand profile

Since 1899, the motif has adorned all products, catalogs and brochures. In a few short years, Vaillant built an excellent reputation that spread throughout Germany and even beyond its borders. Vaillant gave its logo clear lines and outlines. "The Bunny in the Egg" remains the central theme, but the word "Vaillant" is added.

Many Germans know that the Vaillant Bunny belongs to a company based in North Rhine-Westphalia. Moreover: more than 70% of all Germans have heard of the company Vaillant. In Austria and the Netherlands, the company achieves similar results for its image.
