Water tank with flange for insert
IVAR.EUROTANK VS1 1000 is a stationary, indirectly heated tank with a total volume of 955 l for the preparation and storage of hot water for human consumption. It does not have a fixed built-in tube heat exchanger – heat is supplied through one integrated flange Ø 290 / 220 mm into which the copper tin-plated heating insert IVAR.SR is mounted, or heating is provided directly from the heat source. The tank is suitable for closed heating systems with a boiler, heat pump, stove insert or solar system. Electric heating elements are used only for emergency heating, not as the sole permanent heat source.

Installation
The tank should be installed in a closed, well-ventilated room with a temperature of at least +5 °C on a flat and sufficiently load-bearing base; during handling, allow for a lifting height of 2200 mm. A safety valve, pressure-reducing valve and expansion vessel (manufacturer recommends 50–100 l) must be connected to the cold water supply – without a pressure-reducing valve and expansion vessel, the manufacturer will not recognize the warranty. The hardness of the supplied water must not exceed 2 mmol/l (11,2 °dH). Installation may only be performed by a qualified company that fills out the commissioning protocol. The tank needs to be descaled and its anode checked once per year.

Frequently asked questions
Does the heater have a built-in heat exchanger?
No, IVAR.EUROTANK VS1 1000 does not have a fixed built-in tube heat exchanger. Heat is supplied through the flange Ø 290 / 220 mm into which the heating insert IVAR.SR is mounted, or directly from the heat source.
Can an electric heating element be the only heat source?
No. The manufacturer allows electric heating elements only for emergency heating, not as the sole and permanent heat source. Main heating must be ensured by a boiler, heat pump, stove insert or solar system.
What regular maintenance does the tank require?
Once every 12 months, the tank must be internally descaled and the magnesium anode inspected; if the water is aggressive, this must be done every six months. If the diameter of the anode drops below 22 mm, it must be replaced.
