ATMOS C 40 S
Code: C40SProduct detailed description
– 40 kW gasification boiler for brown coal and wood – COMBI with induced draft fan and cooling loop
It is designed for burning brown coal and wood as a backup fuel (for heating), based on the principle of generator gasification using an induced draft fan (S), which extracts flue gases from the boiler.
The boiler body is manufactured as a welded construction from high-quality steel sheets 3 to 6 mm thick. It consists of two chambers stacked on top of each other, the upper one serving as the fuel hopper and the lower one as the combustion chamber and ash pan. Between them is a new, patent-protected rotating grate, which enables perfect fuel gasification and easy ash removal. At the rear of the boiler body there is a vertical flue gas duct, fitted at the top with a lighting-up flap. The upper part of the flue gas duct is fitted with an exhaust neck for connection to the chimney.

Frequently Asked Questions
- How to choose the correct output for a solid fuel boiler? Base your choice on the calculated heat loss of the heated building; however, with wood/coal boilers also consider that the boiler burns for several hours at essentially constant output during a single filling - it is therefore common practice to supplement the boiler with a storage tank, which stores excess heat for later use instead of the boiler having to be inefficiently throttled down.
- What else do I need to install this boiler? In addition to the boiler itself, the system generally requires: a storage (buffer) tank of appropriate volume, a circulation pump (often already with a built-in Laddomat or thermoregulatory valve against low-temperature corrosion of the boiler), a safety valve, an expansion vessel and a flue/chimney with sufficient draft corresponding to the boiler output - exact chimney draft values can be found in the technical parameters above.
- What fuel is suitable and what is not? Use only the fuel recommended by the manufacturer for the given model (usually piece wood of a defined length and moisture content, or brown coal briquettes or coal depending on the boiler type) - unsuitable or too moist fuel reduces efficiency, increases tar and deposit formation and can cause damage to the boiler.
- What about chimney inspection and legislation? Before putting the boiler into operation, as well as regularly during its use (usually once a year for solid fuels), a chimney inspection/cleaning by an authorized chimney sweep is required by law - without the relevant inspection certificate, an insurance claim in the event of a fire may also be disputed.
- How much maintenance does the boiler require? This typically includes regular ash removal and cleaning of heating surfaces/flue gas passages from soot (interval depending on intensity of use, usually within a few weeks), and once a year a thorough check including seals and the chimney.
- Can I install the boiler myself? The actual placement and connection of the boiler to the heating system, chimney and safety elements should be carried out or at least professionally checked by a heating technician - this is a device with open flame, high temperatures and pressure elements, where a connection error can be a safety risk.
