The Excellent series is the pinnacle of the Attack Electric range. It is a boiler intended for customers who want a full replacement for a conventional gas boiler – with the same comfort, with power modulation, with the possibility of preparing hot utility water and with a sophisticated regulation. It is available in power variants: Attack Electric Excellent 8 / 7,5 kW, Attack Electric Excellent 15 kW and Attack Electric Excellent 24 / 22 kW.
Power modulation – why it is important
One of the key features of the Excellent series is smooth or multi-stage power modulation. What does this mean in practice? The boiler does not have to run at full power or be turned off – it can work at partial power, continuously adjust the heat production to current conditions and maintain the heating water temperature at an optimal level. For a model with a maximum power of 15 kW, the boiler can easily run at 6–7 kW on a mild autumn day and save electricity.

Excellent has an eBUS communication bus, via which a compatible room thermostat or weekly program regulator can be connected. Who Is Easy Ideal For

- Cottage or garden house – seasonal or occasional use, where it is not worth investing in sophisticated regulation. You turn the boiler on at the beginning of the season, set the temperature, and that's it.
- Small apartment or studio – if you have a one- or two-room apartment with an area up to 60–70 m² (well insulated), 8 kW is usually sufficient power and simple control is more of an advantage.
- Backup or supplementary source – Easy is sometimes used as a backup heat source for a heat pump (when the pump is insufficient in extreme cold) or as supplementary heating in part of the house.
- Rental property – if you rent out a property and do not want to complicate things, the simple control of Easy is less prone to incorrect manipulation by tenants.
- Limited budget – Easy is more affordable, and if your situation matches the above-mentioned cases, paying extra for Excellent does not make economic sense.
What Easy Lacks and What It Means in Practice
The absence of power modulation in Easy means that the boiler operates in fixed steps – either full power, one of the lower steps, or off. In practice, this does not matter in small houses or cottages – the thermostat will turn the boiler off when the temperature is reached and turn it on again when it drops. In simple radiator systems, this behavior is quite acceptable.
The absence of weather compensation is also not a problem in situations where the house reacts quickly to temperature changes (small spaces, fast radiators) or where heating is not continuous (a cottage used on weekends).
Where could it be a problem? If you were to use Easy in a family house with floor heating. The floor has a huge thermal capacity and a slow response time – a simple thermostat without weather compensation and without modulation cannot effectively control such a system. Scenario 1: 120 m² family house, well insulated, floor heating
This is a classic case for Excellent. A well-insulated house with floor heating has low heat loss (estimated 5–9 kW at an outside temperature of –15 °C), but requires precise regulation. The cottage is used from Friday evening to Sunday, the customer has no interest in programmable regulation or ecothermic – he comes, turns the thermostat to 21 °C and in the morning it is warm. Scenario 3: 65 m² two-room apartment in a panel building, renovation
It depends on the state of thermal insulation. In an unrenovated panel building of an old type, heat loss can reach 6–8 kW in the cold, in a well-insulated apartment with new windows it can be 3–4 kW. For both cases, Easy 8 kW would be sufficient in terms of power. The question is whether the customer wants hot water preparation from the boiler – if yes, Excellent is required. If the apartment has a water heater and only heating is needed, Easy is sufficient.
Scenario 4: Older family house 180 m², thermally not insulated, transition from gas
This is a case where you need to be careful. An older, non-insulated house can have a heat loss of 12–16 kW or even more. Easy 8 kW simply does not meet the requirement. The customer needs Excellent 22/24 kW. In this case, the customer does not need high power or complicated regulation from the electric boiler – the heat pump does 90 % of the work. The electric boiler comes into play only in the event of a pump failure or in extreme cold below –15 °C. Here, Easy 8 kW is again a reasonable choice as an economical backup without unnecessary functions that the customer would never use in backup mode.
Cost considerations: Is it worth paying extra for Excellent?

The owner of a well-insulated 100 m² family house with floor heating is deciding between Easy 8 kW (lower purchase price) and Excellent 8 kW (higher price). Let's assume that the setpoint modulation and modulation with Excellent will save 12 % of electricity annually. With a consumption of 10,000 kWh/year and an electricity price of 0.18 €/kWh, the annual savings are 216 €. Most frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Can I later upgrade Easy to Excellent if I miss modulation or TÚV?
No, Easy and Excellent are not mutually upgradable. They are different products with different control boards and firmware. If you think you will want a TÚV module or setpoint regulation in a year or two, invest in Excellent from the beginning. Replacing the entire boiler after two years due to missing functionality is expensive and logistically unpleasant.
Is Easy 8 kW suitable for a family house, or only for apartments and cabins?
It depends on the house. For a well-insulated, smaller family house (up to about 80–90 m², low-energy standard), 8 kW may be sufficient in terms of power. For a standard family house without significant insulation and an area of 100 m² or more, 8 kW is usually insufficient power, and the absence of modulation and setpoint regulation worsens comfort and savings. Can I connect any thermostat to Excellent, or only a specific eBUS regulator?
Excellent has inputs on the terminal block for a standard thermostat (no-voltage contact) and for an eBUS regulator. You can connect a simple thermostat without eBUS – the boiler will work, but you will lose the benefits of digital communication (modulation via the regulator, displaying the boiler temperature on the regulator, etc.). How noisy is Excellent 15 kW compared to Easy 8 kW in operation?
Both boilers are relatively quiet – the main source of noise is the circulation pump and water flow. Excellent in modulated operation at lower power runs even quieter than at full power. Easy at full power can be slightly louder in terms of water flow, although it is still a very low noise level (<40 dB near the boiler). Neither model is suitable for installation in a bedroom – the recommended installation is in a boiler room, hallway or bathroom.
What happens during a power outage – are the settings preserved?
Excellent with its control electronics preserves the settings in memory even during a power outage (settings are stored in non-volatile memory). After power is restored, the boiler returns to the previous state without the need for re-setting. Is Excellent 22/24 kW worth it for a house where I have significantly oversized electrical power?
It is not a question of available power, but of the actual heat loss of the house. If your house needs only 10 kW, installing a 22 kW boiler is oversized and will result in frequent short-cycle operations.
