Barenbrug SOS in 15kg bag is a regenerative grass mix based on perennial rye grass, suitable for overseeding sports and recreational areas. Regeneration is especially important after the winter period, as with this mix you can achieve more than 60% coverage in one month, which is at least 18 days faster compared to a standard perennial rye grass mix.

The grass mix Barenbrug Super Over Seeding (SOS) is the latest generation of perennial rye grass and differs from standard grass mixes in that it allows sowing even at low temperatures, which is not possible with most other mixes. If the soil has been reaching temperatures of 4 to 6°C for a long time, this seed is the ideal choice!

If you use the seed at the end of winter, it will guarantee you a quality lawn for various sports activities.

Sowing the lawn at the beginning of spring will extend the playing season by several months. The field you get in time maintains a fine surface, which allows more intensive loading of the area than ever before.

For optimal results, professionals recommend a dosage of up to 50g/m2 (which means 5kg for 100m2); with proper watering, you will avoid the need for further overseeding.

It is advisable to first remove the old vegetation, weeds, debris and stones. The top layer should be loosened, thoroughly watered, add 2cm of lawn substrate and let it rest for about a week. Then roll the area and finally level it with a rake to ensure the topsoil is well loosened.

The ideal time for planting a new lawn is on average the turn of April and May, or in autumn in September or October.

For sowing, we recommend using a hand seeder for smaller areas or seeders on carts for larger areas to ensure even distribution of grass seed.
