The group unites the brands Vaillant, Saunier Duval, AWB, Bulex, DemirDöküm, Glow worm, Hermann Saunier Duval and Protherm. Each of these brands has extensive experience in the production of heating equipment, as most of them have been active in this segment for more than 80 years. With its 140 years of market presence, the brand Vaillant is among the largest and most significant. It has long been a market leader and a pioneer in the development and innovation of heating technologies in Europe. The Vaillant Group has an extensive network of sales representatives and thousands of satisfied customers around the world.

The extensive portfolio of the Vaillant Group includes modern heating technologies that are energy-saving, efficient and contribute to environmental protection. Thanks to a wide range of products and models, every customer can find exactly what they need here. The range includes wall-hung and floor-standing boilers, hot water storage tanks or electrical appliances. In the market of wall-hung boilers, the company is even number one in Europe with a 26 percent market share. The Vaillant Group is not specialized only in the development and production of boilers; its product portfolio also includes technologies that use renewable energy sources, such as solar systems or the most modern heat pumps and air conditioners. It also offers recovery or cogeneration units or zeolite heat pumps to users.

Its success is also based on research and development, which always takes place in line with the wishes of customers. The company's research and development department is among the largest and above all the most creative departments in this segment. The Vaillant Group has its presence in most countries of the world. Slovakia is no exception, where the company Vaillant Group Slovakia, s. r. o. is located, representing the brands Vaillant and Protherm. Heating equipment of the Vaillant Group is produced in seven production plants, two of which are located on our territory. These factories employ more than 1,300 people in total. The production plant Protherm Production with its headquarters in Skalice specializes in the production of electric and floor-standing boilers for all brands belonging to the Vaillant Group. It can also boast its own research and development center, which is among the most modern in Europe. The second production plant in Slovakia is Vaillant Industrial Slovakia in Trenčianske Stankovce, which produces modules for wall-hung boilers for the entire group.

The history of the company Vaillant goes back to the year 1874, when it was founded by Johann Vaillant in Remscheid, Germany. Since then, the company Vaillant has been a leader in the field of heating and ventilation technologies.

1874 Plumber Johann Vaillant founded the company.

1894 Patented for the invention of a gas water heater with a "closed system" design.

1899 Registered company logo, the Easter Bunny.

1905 Development of a wall-mounted water heater, patented under the designation "Geyser".

1924 Development of a wall-mounted boiler for heating.

1955 Production of the millionth appliance after the end of the Second World War.

1960 Production of electrical appliances begins.

1967 Development of a combined wall-mounted boiler.

1974 11 million appliances sold since 1974.

1992 Establishment of subsidiary companies – in the Czechoslovak Republic, Hungary, Poland and Turkey.

1993 Separation of Czechoslovakia leads to the creation of a separate sales representation in Slovakia.

1999 Anniversary, 125th anniversary of the founding of the company, 40 million appliances sold in the entire history of the company.

2001 The Vaillant Group is formed, covering eight significant manufacturers of heating equipment in Europe, including the boiler manufacturer Protherm in Slovakia.

2003 The Vaillant Group production plant in Skalice specializes in the production of floor-standing boilers also for other brands belonging to the VG group.

2004 Vaillant Group opens a new production plant in Trenčín, Slovakia, for the production of hydraulic groups for wall-hung boilers.

2009 10,000,000 modules for heating equipment produced at the VG Trenčín plant.

Very distinctive brand profile

Since 1899, the motif has adorned all products, catalogs and brochures. In a few short years, Vaillant built an excellent reputation that spread throughout Germany and even beyond its borders. Vaillant gave its logo clear lines and outlines. "The Bunny in the Egg" remains the central theme, but the word "Vaillant" is added.

Many Germans know that the Vaillant Bunny belongs to a company based in North Rhine-Westphalia. Moreover: more than 70% of all Germans have heard of the company Vaillant. In Austria and the Netherlands, the company achieves similar results for its image.
