Rainwater comes first

The AQUATWIN TOP 4050 set (marked 40/50 in the manual) by DAB supplies service water to outlets such as washing machines, toilet flushing, floor cleaning or irrigation. It draws primarily from the rainwater tank; when the level is insufficient, the control unit switches the suction via three-way valves to the built-in 150 l mains water tank, so the outlets are never left without water. The water supplied by the set is not drinking water.

The set can be connected to one or two independent rainwater tanks. With two tanks, each three-way valve controls the suction separately and the set can also run in mixed mode with rainwater and mains water.

How the set works

The two self-priming pumps are started by a pressure sensor and alternate with each demand. If one pump cannot maintain the required pressure, the second one joins in. When water runs out, the pumps stop and the panel signals a fault; once the supply is restored, the set restarts automatically.

• mains water tank with floats for automatic refilling via a solenoid valve and overflow alarm, filter at the tank inlet and Y-type strainer
• air gap preventing contamination of mains water by water from the tank
• 2" overflow connection and adjustable vibration dampers

Installation

Place the set in a well-ventilated location protected from the weather, at an ambient temperature of +5 to +40 °C and as close as possible to the rainwater tank – the suction pipe may be max. 20 m long and 3 m high. The overflow must be led visibly to the sewer with a pipe of at least DN 50. Installation and electrical connection (1 × 230 V, 30 mA residual current device) must be carried out by a professional.

The control unit switches the pump suction via three-way valves to the built-in 150 l tank, which is refilled automatically from the mains. The outlets thus remain supplied.

Is the water from the set drinkable?
No. The set is intended for service water for washing machines, toilet flushing, floor cleaning or irrigation.

How far can the set be from the rainwater tank?
The suction pipe may be max. 20 m long and 3 m high. For a longer or higher suction, another pump must be connected in series.
