The DAB MCE/C 30 (code 60144660) is a frequency inverter for circulators in closed systems such as heating, cooling and air-conditioning circuits. It adapts the motor speed to the actual demand of the circuit, so the pump does not run at full power unnecessarily. Lower speeds reduce electricity consumption and mechanical stress; the inverter also prevents water hammer and thus extends the service life of the pump.

Mounting directly on the motor

The inverter is fixed to the pump motor housing and cooled by the air flow from the motor fan. It can operate in a vertical or horizontal position. For fixing, a tie-rod kit is used if the fan cover is strong enough, or a fan cover kit where the original cover cannot carry the weight of the inverter. The MCE/C 30 is designed for 3× 400 V three-phase motors with a rated power of up to 3 kW, a current of 2.0–7.5 A and motor frame size 100.

Control modes

• constant differential pressure (factory setting) – suitable e.g. for two-pipe and underfloor heating with thermostatic valves or for primary circuit pumps
• constant curve – fixed speed set between the minimum and the rated frequency of the pump
• constant curve controlled by an external 0–10 V analogue signal

Twin pumps and protections

The communication module allows two MCE/C inverters to be linked with a special cable. On a twin pump or two pumps connected to common manifolds, they then operate alternately every 24 hours, simultaneously or in main/standby mode. The inverter protects the pump against overload (with adjustable limit), overvoltage, overcurrent and overheating, has IP55 protection and is set up on a graphic display with a wizard. The 4 or 10 bar differential pressure sensor is ordered separately as an accessory. The electrical connection must be made by a specialist.

Is the differential pressure sensor included?
No, the sensor is ordered as an accessory – differential sensors with a 4 bar or 10 bar range are intended for the MCE/C. For twin-pump operation the connecting cable must also be ordered.

How is the inverter fixed to the pump?
It is mounted on the motor housing and can work vertically or horizontally. If the motor fan cover cannot carry the weight of the inverter, the fan cover mounting kit is used; otherwise the tie-rod kit is sufficient.

Which pumps is the MCE/C 30 suitable for?
