The S4 8/15 T 4OL (code 60190906) is a DAB multistage submersible centrifugal pump with a 4" diameter, designed for wells and boreholes wider than 4". It is driven by a three-phase oil-filled 4OL motor rated at 2.2 kW. It suits water supply and pressure boosting in family houses and larger buildings, irrigation, and washing and fire-fighting systems.

Materials and construction

The pump jacket, shaft with coupling, suction strainer and cable guard are made of stainless steel, the suction and delivery casings of investment-cast AISI 304 steel. Impellers and diffusers are made of technopolymer, the stage casings of technopolymer with stainless steel suction rings and the non-return valve of technopolymer. The 4OL motor has bearings lubricated and cooled by a food-grade fluid, a rewindable stator in an AISI 304L steel housing and a carbon/ceramic mechanical seal. The hydraulics reach an efficiency index of MEI ≥ 0.4.

Installation and operation

The pump is installed vertically; for horizontal installation the manufacturer recommends a cooling sleeve. The water should be clean and non-aggressive, at 0 to +40 °C, with a sand content of no more than 150 g/m³; immersion is possible down to 250 m and the pump may start at most 20 times per hour. The motor can run on a frequency converter in the 30–50 Hz range. Protection of the three-phase motor must be provided by the user in the electrical installation. The electrical connection must be made by a qualified electrician.
