The core of a compact distribution station
VARIMIX is IVAR's modular system for heat generators, designed mainly for heat pumps and for both heating and cooling. The 3-way IVAR.VAR 30 distribution manifold links the heat source with the VARIMIX boiler modules – the direct IVAR.VAR 10, the mixing IVAR.VAR 20 and the IVAR.VAR 21 module with thermostatic cartridge – and with the hydraulic separator. The modules fit without further accessories from above and from below; 7 connection positions are available.
Design
- two separate chambers for flow and return with a 2.2 mm air gap between them that limits heat transfer
- 6/4" M connection at both ends for the heat source or hydraulic separator, modules attached with G 1" union nuts
- module connection centre distance 125 mm, dimensions with insulation 825 × 262 × 110 mm
- flow and return can be swapped by turning the manifold round
- supplied with EPP insulation shell, wall fixing kit and brass caps with EPDM seals for unused openings
Use and installation
The manifold is intended only for heating and cooling circuits filled with heating water, not for drinking water. It is mounted on a dry, load-bearing wall protected from frost and UV radiation, thermally separated from the wall. In cooling mode the EPP insulation prevents condensation; the chilled water temperature should generally not drop below +15 to +16 °C. EPDM seals must not come into contact with mineral oils. Installation and commissioning should be carried out by a professional.

How many connection positions does the 3-way manifold have?
According to the technical data sheet, 7. The boiler modules are mounted above and below the manifold, while the heat source or hydraulic separator connects at the side.
Can the manifold also be used for cooling?
