The electrothermal head with 24 V power supply is an electric actuator that works together with a room thermostat: the thermostat evaluates the room temperature and the head then allows or stops the heating water in one floor heating loop accordingly. This gives the user control over the temperature in a specific room.

Electric actuators operate on a simple principle: when voltage is applied, a temperature-expanding element heats up in the head, which moves the valve actuator. Therefore, the operation is not immediate. Opening and closing of this head takes 3 minutes, and the valve actuator moves a stroke of 4 mm during this process.
