IVAR.ASKO HEAT AHR-B-C-9,0 electric immersion heater – 9.0 kW, 3 × 400 V, L = 750 mm
Code: IVA012-0407Product detailed description
Supplementary heating in the tank
The IVAR.ASKO HEAT AHR-B-C-9,0 is the most powerful model in its range: 9.0 kW at 3 × 400 V AC. It consists of three U-shaped heating rods made of Cronifer 1.4529 (Ø 8.2 mm) welded into a brass boss with a 6/4" tapered male thread. The immersion length is 750 mm, of which the first 150 mm from the boss is unheated, reducing scale build-up in the tank socket. The low surface load of 8–9 W/cm² works in the same direction.
Control and protection
- electromechanical thermostat to EN 14597, adjustable from the frost protection position to approx. +85 °C
- +110 °C safety cut-out with lock-out, manual reset only after cooling by approx. 10 K
- integrated contactor, ON / OFF / AUTO switch and LED mode indicator
- in AUTO mode heating is enabled by a 230 V signal, for example from a heat pump
- impact-resistant polycarbonate covers, IP41 protection, dry-firing protection
Use and installation
The heater is suitable as back-up or supplementary heating alongside a heat pump, solar thermal system, photovoltaics or wood, oil and gas boilers, and as frost protection. It must be installed horizontally only, with the TOP mark facing up; the rods must be fully immersed and a distance of 50–100 mm kept from the inner wall of the tank. The fixed cable connection with all-pole isolation may only be made by a qualified electrician.

Frequently asked questions
Which tank does the 750 mm heater suit?
A vessel with a 6/4" socket in which 50 to 100 mm remain to the inner wall once the heater is fitted. The rods expand by up to 30 mm when hot, so at least 50 mm must be kept.
Can the heater be switched by a heat pump?
Yes, in AUTO mode heating is switched on by a 230 V signal at terminal 2, with which the heat pump enables the supplementary heating. In ON mode the heater runs on its own thermostat.
What should I do if the safety cut-out trips?
The cut-out trips at +110 °C and stays locked out. It is reset with a screwdriver via the Reset button once the temperature has dropped by about 10 K; if it tripped because of a fault, a specialist must check the system.
Can I fit two heaters in one flange?
Not in a flange with two 6/4" sockets spaced 120 mm apart (code Y91A20272) – this heater type is not designed for such double installation.

IVAR designs, develops and manufactures highly energy-efficient heating and plumbing systems. We have over 10,000 catalogue items - mass-produced products and unique items - in addition to customised systems and combinations of complex products. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Vision
To make life easier for our clients, our clients' customers and our employees, thanks to our ability to be constantly innovative.
Mission
To design and manufacture advanced hydronic solutions that reduce installation complexity and energy consumption.
“Made in Italy” adds value
IVAR has been producing heating and plumbing system components since 1985: valves for heating bodies, direct heat metering modules, heat cost allocators, pipes and fittings, substations for heating systems, distribution manifolds, radiant panel systems, and components for solar and geothermal systems. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Over 200 people are employed at our manufacturing facilities in Prevalle (in northern Italy’s Brescia province). The site has been designed to streamline our many production and operational stages.
The Italian headquarters also acts as a hub for the wider IVAR Group, set up with the goal of distributing products beyond Italy’s borders. The group now has 11 branches, in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the United States and Tunisia.
Know How
Research, development and numerous laboratory tests guarantee that our clients’ requests can be translated into new high-efficiency products.
The stages required for production take place internally, beginning with hot forming, which is carried out at our subsidiary Valmon Stampati. Our continuous implementation of projects under the Industry 4.0 initiative also allows us to take full advantage of new releases in technology and IT to improve our manufacturing efficiency.
As a company, IVAR is constantly evolving. Every day, we invest in strengthening our products, in improving our production processes and in attaining new patents and certifications.
