Detailed information

Product detailed description

The IVAR.6772 ball valve, code 6772R105, is a 3/4" angle fitting: it turns the pipeline through 90° and can shut it off completely at the same time. Connection FM – the side connection has a female thread, the connection in line with the handle axis a male thread. The butterfly handle is blue.

Applications

  • cold and hot water and compressed air
  • domestic, industrial and agricultural installations
  • non-aggressive media, max. +120 °C, without steam
  • approved for drinking water

Design and materials

  • body, end piece, ball and stem made of CW617N brass, nickel-plated body
  • PTFE ball seats, stem sealed with Viton and EPDM O-rings
  • full bore, diameter Ø 20 mm
  • threads to EN ISO 228/1, extended on both sides
  • butterfly handle made of painted aluminium, span 60 mm

Installation and operation

The valve is supplied in the open position. When tightening, hold it on the hexagon (31 mm spanner) against the direction of pipe rotation. PTFE tape, sealing thread or sealing paste are suitable for the threads. Use the valve only fully open or fully closed; turning it through its full range 1–2 times per quarter extends the life of the seals.

The version with a red butterfly handle has the code 6780R105; this type is available in sizes 1/2" – 1".

Frequently asked questions

Do the blue and red versions differ in anything other than colour?
No. Types IVAR.6772 (blue handle) and IVAR.6780 (red handle) have identical dimensions, materials and operating data; only the handle colour differs.

Can I use this valve to regulate the flow?
No, the ball valve is intended only for fully opening or closing. The manufacturer does not permit operation in an intermediate position.

What should I use to seal the threads during installation?
The manufacturer recommends PTFE tape, cord or thread, or sealing pastes and gels. Hemp is not recommended, as too much of it can crack the valve body.

In which position should the valve be left when the system is drained because of frost?
If the system is drained due to the risk of freezing, the ball valve must be left half open at 45°.

IVAR designs, develops and manufactures highly energy-efficient heating and plumbing systems. We have over 10,000 catalogue items - mass-produced products and unique items - in addition to customised systems and combinations of complex products. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.

Vision
To make life easier for our clients, our clients' customers and our employees, thanks to our ability to be constantly innovative.

Mission
To design and manufacture advanced hydronic solutions that reduce installation complexity and energy consumption.

“Made in Italy” adds value

IVAR has been producing heating and plumbing system components since 1985: valves for heating bodies, direct heat metering modules, heat cost allocators, pipes and fittings, substations for heating systems, distribution manifolds, radiant panel systems, and components for solar and geothermal systems. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Over 200 people are employed at our manufacturing facilities in Prevalle (in northern Italy’s Brescia province). The site has been designed to streamline our many production and operational stages.

The Italian headquarters also acts as a hub for the wider IVAR Group, set up with the goal of distributing products beyond Italy’s borders. The group now has 11 branches, in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the United States and Tunisia.

Know How
Research, development and numerous laboratory tests guarantee that our clients’ requests can be translated into new high-efficiency products.

The stages required for production take place internally, beginning with hot forming, which is carried out at our subsidiary Valmon Stampati. Our continuous implementation of projects under the Industry 4.0 initiative also allows us to take full advantage of new releases in technology and IT to improve our manufacturing efficiency.

As a company, IVAR is constantly evolving. Every day, we invest in strengthening our products, in improving our production processes and in attaining new patents and certifications.
