Hornisse anti-icing heating cable 6.5 mm, 32 m (960 W)
Code: HOCAB-ODR-30-960Product detailed description
The Hornisse frost protection cable, 32 m long with a power of 960 W, is designed to protect exterior areas in winter. Once connected to the 230 V power supply, it heats the base and prevents the formation of an ice layer on driveways, sidewalks, stairs, as well as in gutters and downspouts, ensuring safe movement on them.
Heat is distributed evenly, so snow and ice melt across the entire heated surface. In addition to ensuring the safety of pedestrians and vehicles, you also protect the surface itself, as you do not have to break up ice mechanically. The cable is flexible and can be laid on flat surfaces, into gutters, and into more complex structures.
Such systems are appreciated by individuals and companies who care about property safety and want to ensure that water drainage is not damaged in winter. They are most useful in areas with heavy snowfall and frequent frost, where manual shoveling and salting would be exhausting and time-consuming.
Main Features
- Power 30 W/m – heating designed for winter conditions, at 230 V voltage.
- Weather resistance – the cable withstands low temperatures, humidity, and UV radiation.
- Even heating – heat reaches the entire heated surface and prevents the formation of frost.
- Flexible construction – round twin-core cable with 100 % shielding can be laid on flat surfaces and into gutters.
- Durable sheath – the outer insulation made of PVC has protection against UV radiation.
- Automatic operation – in combination with a thermostat and sensors for humidity and temperature, it is activated only when needed.
- Long service life – the materials used are designed for long-term operation even in demanding weather conditions.

Application
- Driveways and sidewalks – prevent snow or ice from settling on external surfaces and keep them safely passable.
- Outdoor stairs – reduce the risk of slipping on icy steps.
- Gutters and downspouts – protect drainage from freezing, damage, and blockage by ice.
During installation, maintain a minimum installation temperature of 5 °C and lay the cable evenly so that its branches do not touch or cross. Do not cut the cable. Use a thermostat with humidity and temperature sensors to control it, which will activate the cable only when frost is imminent. For higher safety, it is recommended to add the NTC-10 sensor.

The Hornisse frost protection cable range with a power of 30 W/m includes versions with lengths of 10, 21, 32, 49, and 70 m, with power of 300, 630, 960, 1470, and 2100 W. Choose the length according to the area or route you want to protect. This model has a length of 32 m, a power of 960 W, a current of 4.4 A, and a resistance of 55.1 Ω.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why use a cable in gutters and downspouts?
Water that freezes in gutters and downspouts can clog the outlet and damage the system. The heating cable prevents this.
Do I need to control the cable automatically?
It is not mandatory, but automatic control using a thermostat and sensors is recommended, as the cable is activated only when actually needed. It is also recommended to use the NTC-10 sensor.
How long is the power cable?
The connection cable is 3 m long. The heating section is 32 m long in this version.
