Hornisse anti-icing heating cable 6.5 mm, 70 m (2100 W)
Code: HOCAB-ODR-30-2100Product detailed description
The longest version of the anti-icing cable Hornisse in this range has a length of 70 m and a power of 2100 W. It is suitable for larger outdoor areas where snow or ice must not accumulate in winter: driveways, sidewalks, stairs, and also gutter systems. It is connected to the 230 V power supply and together with a thermostat and sensors creates an automatically controlled system.
Heat is distributed evenly, so snow and ice melt on the entire heated surface. In addition to ensuring the safety of pedestrians and vehicles, you also protect the surface itself, as you do not have to break up ice mechanically. The cable is flexible and can be laid on flat surfaces, in gutters, and in more complex structures.
Such systems are appreciated by both individuals and companies who care about property safety and want to ensure that water drainage is not damaged in winter. They are most useful in areas with heavy snowfall and frequent frost, where manual snow removal and salting would be exhausting and time-consuming.
Main Features
- Power 30 W/m – heating designed for winter conditions, at 230 V voltage.
- Weather resistance – the cable can withstand low temperatures, humidity, and UV radiation.
- Even heating – heat reaches the entire heated surface and prevents the formation of frost.
- Flexible construction – round twin-core cable with 100 % shielding can be laid on flat surfaces and in gutters.
- Durable sheath – the outer insulation made of PVC has UV protection.
- Automatic operation – in combination with a thermostat and sensors for humidity and temperature, it is activated only when needed.
- Long service life – the materials used are designed for long-term operation even in harsh weather conditions.

Application
- Driveways and sidewalks – prevent snow or ice from settling on outdoor surfaces and keep them safely passable.
- Outdoor stairs – reduce the risk of slipping on icy steps.
- Gutters and drains – protect drainage from freezing, damage, and blockage by ice.
During installation, maintain a minimum installation temperature of 5 °C and lay the cable evenly so that its branches do not touch or cross. Do not cut the cable. Use a thermostat with a humidity and temperature sensor to control it, which activates the cable only when frost is imminent. For higher safety, it is recommended to add the NTC-10 sensor.
Other lengths in the range
The range of anti-icing cables Hornisse with a power of 30 W/m includes versions with lengths of 10, 21, 32, 49, and 70 m, which have powers of 300, 630, 960, 1470, and 2100 W. Choose the length according to the area or route you want to protect. This unit has a length of 70 m, a power of 2100 W, a current of 9.5 A, and a resistance of 25.2 Ω.
Frequently Asked Questions
When is the longest version worth considering?
For larger areas or longer routes where shorter cables would not be sufficient. At 70 m and 2100 W, it is the most powerful unit in the range.
What should be observed during installation?
Minimum installation temperature of 5 °C and even cable placement so that it does not touch itself. Never cut the cable.
How to achieve automatic operation?
By connecting a thermostat with a humidity and temperature sensor. For higher safety, the NTC-10 sensor is recommended.
