Detailed information

Product detailed description

Hornisse HO 305 is a composite heating film from Poland in a narrower version: width 50 cm and length in the package 100 m, which is together 50 m² of film. It operates at 230 V and transfers heat by infrared radiation, so it heats the floor or wall evenly and without draughts. It is suitable for use in homes as well as offices.

  • heat spreads smoothly without cold spots,
  • energy-saving operation with low energy consumption,
  • easy and clean laying without dust,
  • after covering with the floor, the heat source is not visible at all,
  • fast warm-up and prompt response to temperature regulation,
  • no moving parts, so no requirements for repairs or replacements.

How the heating film works

The film works as a flat radiant heater. Electric current heats a thin layer of material, which emits infrared heat directly onto surrounding surfaces and objects, not just into the air. Occupants thus feel even heat and do not have to worry about draughts or cold zones. This radiation is considered safe and harmless to health. The film is available in various widths and lengths, which allows the installation to be adapted to a specific room; in addition to floors, it can also be used on walls.

Construction and materials used

  • The surface is protected by a milky PET film. Its milky tint is related to the dense material that better protects against abrasion, and a vapor-tight film on the upper layer of the installation is therefore not necessary.
  • High-quality copper strips conduct the current.
  • Silver strip with printed pattern can carry a higher load.
  • Only the underneath layer of the underlay should be laminated, which ensures the most durable electrical connection between the film and the compression connector.
  • Construction height only 5 mm in addition to the target floor layer.
  • The original floor remains, the film can be laid directly on it.
  • The system is designed for dry construction.

Application and installation

The narrower version of the film, 50 cm wide, is sold in this range as a full package of 100 m. It is suitable for heating floors and walls in living areas and offices. One strip can be up to 20 m long and the installed power of one strip must not exceed 1200 W; longer sections need to be composed of several strips. Cutting is possible every 25 cm.

In renovations, you will appreciate that the film can be laid on the original floor without removing it. Connecting to the power supply and setting the thermostat should be done by an electrician with the appropriate qualifications.

Composite and ladder film – what is the difference

The difference between composite and ladder film is in the construction. Composite film is composed of several layers, which gives it greater durability and flexibility, and emits heat evenly across its entire surface. Ladder film has a heating structure composed of parallel strips resembling a ladder; heat is mainly generated in the crossbar areas, and is therefore more localized.

Savings and ecology

An energy-saving heater not only saves money but also protects nature. According to available data, the film produces low CO2 emissions and uses energy efficiently, thus helping to reduce electricity consumption and the carbon footprint of a home or office.
