Stainless steel wafer check valve BRA.06.623 without spring – DN 250, L = 38 mm
Code: I06623250Product detailed description
Check valve for tight spaces
The BRA.06.623 valve is installed between the flanges of a DN 250 pipe (PN 6, PN 10, PN 16 and ANSI 150), where it takes up only 38 mm. It is suitable for heating and air conditioning (HVAC), water networks, compressed air, oils and hydrocarbons and the chemical and food industries; it handles water with up to 50% glycol and holds a drinking water approval. It is not intended for steam.
Design
- body, disc and plate of ASTM A351 CF8M stainless steel
- without spring – the disc closes under the backflow, minimum closing back pressure 0.3 bar
- PTFE sealing O-ring – according to the manufacturer no additional gasket is needed during installation
- centring profile, positioning hole and lifting eye make installation easier
- rounded disc that stops against the pipe wall for maximum opening and low pressure loss, Kv 1670 m³/h
- weight 12.4 kg
Pressure, temperature and installation
For water and non-hazardous liquids the maximum pressure is 25 bar, for non-hazardous gases in DN 250 it is 16 bar; the valve is not intended for hazardous gases. The temperature range of the PTFE seal is -20 to +200 °C, and the permissible pressure decreases as the temperature rises. The valve is unidirectional – it is installed according to the arrow on the body in a straight section as far as possible from elbows, bends and pumps. The bolts are tightened gradually in a cross pattern; dismantling and maintenance must not be carried out under pressure. If you need installation in any position, choose the spring version BRA.M6.623 PR (code M6623250).

Frequently asked questions
Can the valve without spring be installed in a vertical pipe?
The technical data sheet allows horizontal and vertical installation, but the minimum opening pressure depends on the size and installation position. If you need a completely free position, choose the spring version BRA.M6.623 PR.
Which flanges does the DN 250 valve fit between?
The centring profile allows installation between PN 6, PN 10 and PN 16 as well as ANSI 150 flanges. The valve is placed between the flanges and clamped with the flange bolts.
Is the valve suitable for systems with glycol?
Yes, the manufacturer lists it for water with up to 50% glycol. It is not suitable for steam or hazardous gases.
Where should the valve be placed in the pipe?
In a straight section as far as possible from elbows, bends and circulating pumps, so that no turbulence occurs at the valve.

IVAR designs, develops and manufactures highly energy-efficient heating and plumbing systems. We have over 10,000 catalogue items - mass-produced products and unique items - in addition to customised systems and combinations of complex products. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Vision
To make life easier for our clients, our clients' customers and our employees, thanks to our ability to be constantly innovative.
Mission
To design and manufacture advanced hydronic solutions that reduce installation complexity and energy consumption.
“Made in Italy” adds value
IVAR has been producing heating and plumbing system components since 1985: valves for heating bodies, direct heat metering modules, heat cost allocators, pipes and fittings, substations for heating systems, distribution manifolds, radiant panel systems, and components for solar and geothermal systems. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Over 200 people are employed at our manufacturing facilities in Prevalle (in northern Italy’s Brescia province). The site has been designed to streamline our many production and operational stages.
The Italian headquarters also acts as a hub for the wider IVAR Group, set up with the goal of distributing products beyond Italy’s borders. The group now has 11 branches, in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the United States and Tunisia.
Know How
Research, development and numerous laboratory tests guarantee that our clients’ requests can be translated into new high-efficiency products.
The stages required for production take place internally, beginning with hot forming, which is carried out at our subsidiary Valmon Stampati. Our continuous implementation of projects under the Industry 4.0 initiative also allows us to take full advantage of new releases in technology and IT to improve our manufacturing efficiency.
As a company, IVAR is constantly evolving. Every day, we invest in strengthening our products, in improving our production processes and in attaining new patents and certifications.
