90° Press Elbow IVAR.IVN420 – press x press, AISI 304 stainless steel, 28 mm
Code: IVN420.28Product detailed description
The IVAR.IVN420 elbow in size 28 mm turns a stainless steel pipeline through 90°. Both sides are press sockets (PRESS x PRESS) for pipe of the same diameter – the fitting is not reduced. The body is made of AISI 304 (1.4301) stainless steel and the joint is sealed by an EPDM O-ring.
Applications
- closed heating and cooling circuits
- solar systems
- compressed air and vacuum systems
- inert and technical gases
- technical and process liquids, industrial applications
- waste water and rainwater
It is not intended for drinking water installations.
Pressing the 28 mm size
The joint is pressed with M-profile press jaws; for 28 mm diameter, single jaws are sufficient. An orange strip on the fitting marks a joint that has not yet been pressed, and the LBP O-ring (Leak Before Press) lets liquid escape during the pressure test until the fitting is pressed – so a forgotten joint shows up straight away.
Cut the pipe square to its axis, deburr it inside and outside and mark the insertion depth with a marker. Follow the system manufacturer's installation instructions during assembly and flush the entire system before commissioning.
Operating data
Pressure up to PN 16, vacuum down to -0.8 bar (absolute pressure 0.2 bar), temperature -20 °C to +120 °C, antifreeze at a concentration of no more than 50%. Dimensions according to the technical drawing: L 61 mm, Z 37 mm.
The same range also includes the 90° elbow with one spigot end IVAR.IVN421.

Frequently asked questions
Can the IVAR.IVN420 elbow be used for drinking water?
No. According to the manufacturer, AISI 304 stainless steel fittings are not suitable for drinking water. They are intended for closed heating and cooling circuits, solar systems and lines for compressed air, technical gases and liquids.
Which press jaws do I need for the 28 mm size?
M-profile jaws. According to the installation manual, single jaws are used for diameters from 15 to 35 mm.
How do I recognise an unpressed joint in the 28 mm size?
The fitting has an orange press indicator and an LBP O-ring that lets liquid through during the pressure test until the joint is pressed.
Can the circuit contain antifreeze?
Yes, at a concentration of no more than 50%. The operating temperature is -20 °C to +120 °C at pressures up to PN 16.

IVAR designs, develops and manufactures highly energy-efficient heating and plumbing systems. We have over 10,000 catalogue items - mass-produced products and unique items - in addition to customised systems and combinations of complex products. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Vision
To make life easier for our clients, our clients' customers and our employees, thanks to our ability to be constantly innovative.
Mission
To design and manufacture advanced hydronic solutions that reduce installation complexity and energy consumption.
“Made in Italy” adds value
IVAR has been producing heating and plumbing system components since 1985: valves for heating bodies, direct heat metering modules, heat cost allocators, pipes and fittings, substations for heating systems, distribution manifolds, radiant panel systems, and components for solar and geothermal systems. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Over 200 people are employed at our manufacturing facilities in Prevalle (in northern Italy’s Brescia province). The site has been designed to streamline our many production and operational stages.
The Italian headquarters also acts as a hub for the wider IVAR Group, set up with the goal of distributing products beyond Italy’s borders. The group now has 11 branches, in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the United States and Tunisia.
Know How
Research, development and numerous laboratory tests guarantee that our clients’ requests can be translated into new high-efficiency products.
The stages required for production take place internally, beginning with hot forming, which is carried out at our subsidiary Valmon Stampati. Our continuous implementation of projects under the Industry 4.0 initiative also allows us to take full advantage of new releases in technology and IT to improve our manufacturing efficiency.
As a company, IVAR is constantly evolving. Every day, we invest in strengthening our products, in improving our production processes and in attaining new patents and certifications.
