PNI CBM-2 is a combiner box where the cables from photovoltaic panels converge before connecting to the inverter. By connecting the strings in one place, the number of cables is reduced, the wiring is more organized, and it is easier to maintain. It is designed for single-phase solar systems.
The combiner box accepts two panel strings (15 A per string) and routes them to one DC output to the inverter. It includes DC overvoltage protection and a fuse holder, thus protecting the equipment from overvoltage and facilitating circuit interruption during installation work.
The enclosure has an IP65 rating, can be placed outdoors, and according to the manufacturer, it prevents damage to components from UV radiation, acids, humidity, mold, or rodents.
Installation
The combiner box is mounted on the wall near the panels or at the location where the cabling leads to the inverter. Inputs have PG09 cable glands, the output has PG21, and grounding has PG13,5. The conductor cross-section at the input is 4 mm². Connecting a DC circuit with up to 1000 V should be done by a person with professional electrical qualifications.
