The wireless detector PNI SafeHouse HS201 is suitable wherever natural gas is used. It detects methane (CH4), butane, ethane, liquefied natural gas and other gases, as well as propane (LPG, liquefied petroleum gas), and triggers an alarm in case of a leak.

Connection via Wi-Fi allows remote monitoring and notifications in the Tuya Smart mobile app. The device can also be integrated into scenarios with other devices, for example with a Wi-Fi solenoid valve to close the gas supply.

Local and remote notification

When the gas concentration in the environment reaches 8 % LEL, the detector simultaneously lights up the integrated LED diodes, triggers an audio signal, and sends a notification via Wi-Fi to the mobile app. After the concentration drops below 4 %, it will continue to sound for another minute, then the alarm will turn off and automatically return to the normal monitoring mode. In the technical specifications, the alarm point is listed as 6 % LEL (± 3 %).

Installation and operation

The detector is plugged directly into a 230 V AC socket at a sufficient distance from the gas source. Natural gas is lighter than air and rises during a leak, so when selecting the socket, also consider this principle. The manufacturer describes it as a reliable device without false alarms and the display shows the alarm status together with the audio warning.

Does the HS201 also detect smoke?

No. The device is a gas detector and the smoke detector is not included in the package.
