PNI Safe House Kit 400 Set: gas detector with electromagnetic valve 3/4"
Code: PNI-SH400Product detailed description
PNI Safe House Kit 400 is a complete set consisting of a gas detector and an electromagnetic valve with a 3/4" internal thread. The detector is designed for natural gas (methane), LPG (main components: propane and butane), and town gas. When the concentration of flammable gas exceeds the 10 % LEL threshold, it triggers a continuous sound alarm with a volume of 85 dB and flashes a red LED diode.
The built-in semiconductor sensor has a service life of up to 5 years according to the manufacturer and withstands extreme environmental conditions and corrosive environments well. Warning: the detector is not able to detect toxic gases, such as carbon monoxide (CO).
Main Features
- continuous sound alarm ≥ 85 dB and red LED flashing
- alarm threshold 10 % LEL
- semiconductor sensor with a service life of up to 5 years
- simple Plug-and-Play connection
- housing made of fire-resistant ABS plastic, resistant to mold, pests and corrosion and easy to clean
- power consumption less than 3 W
- valve closes with a current impulse or manually, in less than 1 second
Installation
Natural gas consists of methane, which is lighter than air. In case of a leak, it rises and accumulates under the ceiling. For natural gas, install the detector 30 cm below the ceiling and no more than 1.5 m from the gas source.
LPG is a mixture of propane and butane, which is heavier than air, and therefore falls to the floor in case of a leak. For LPG, mount the detector 30 cm above the floor, again no more than 1.5 m from the gas source.
Do not install the detector in areas with a high amount of water vapor, as steam can affect the sensor and cause false alarms.
Function Test
Hold the button of a gas lighter at the gas supply to the detector and slowly release the gas. Do not ignite the lighter, just let the gas escape. When the gas concentration around the sensor reaches the set level, the alarm will be triggered and will sound until the gas level in the environment drops below the alarm threshold.
Attention: the sensor heats up for approximately 2 – 3 minutes after being turned on and the gas test does not work during this time. The end of heating (initialization) is confirmed by an acoustic signal and the detector then switches to normal operation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the detector also detect carbon monoxide?
No. The sensor is not able to detect toxic gases such as carbon monoxide (CO). It is designed for natural gas, LPG and town gas.
How long does the sensor heating take?
The heating time is approximately 2 – 3 minutes (the technical data specify an initialization time of 180 seconds). The end of this phase is confirmed by an acoustic signal from the detector.
