The IVAR.IVN431 – 15 mm x R1/2" transition elbow from the IVAR system in AISI 304 stainless steel (1.4301) has a press socket with an EPDM O-ring for the 15 mm pipe on one side and a R1/2" male thread on the other. It connects the line to a heating valve or a female-threaded fitting and changes direction by 90°. It handles PN 16 and -20 °C to +120 °C.
Applications
Closed heating and cooling circuits, solar systems, compressed air and vacuum lines, inert and technical gases, technical and process liquids, industrial applications, waste water and rainwater. Not for drinking water – a symbol on the fitting also indicates this.
Installation
Cut the pipe square with a pipe cutter or fine-toothed saw (no angle grinder or flame), deburr it inside and out and push it in up to the stop; mark the insertion depth with a marker. Seal the thread with chloride-free material, e.g. PTFE tape or hemp with chloride-free paste. Press with M-profile jaws; for size 15 mm, standard jaws. Each joint is pressed only once – pressing again may damage the seal.
The orange strip tears during pressing, so an unpressed joint is visible at a glance. In addition, the LBP O-ring (Leak Before Press) lets medium escape from an unpressed joint during the pressure test.
Flush the entire circuit before commissioning and follow the system manufacturer's installation instructions. If the valve has a male thread, use type IVAR.IVN430 with an Rp1/2" female thread.

What should I use to seal the R1/2" thread on the stainless elbow?
The installation manual recommends chloride-free sealing materials – chloride-free PTFE tape, hemp with chloride-free paste or chloride-free sealing tape. Chlorides increase the risk of corrosion in stainless steel.
Can the IVAR.IVN431 fitting be used for drinking water?
No. The manufacturer does not intend the AISI 304 stainless system for drinking water, which is also indicated by a symbol on the fitting body. It is designed for heating, cooling, solar systems and lines for technical media.
Which press jaws do I need for the 15 mm size?
M-profile jaws. For diameters from 15 to 35 mm the manufacturer's instructions specify standard jaws.
