The IVAR.IVN452 42 mm flange links the stainless steel press system with valves and appliances that have a flanged connection. On one side it has a socket into which the 42 mm pipe is inserted and pressed, on the other a DN 40 flange. The socket diameter matches the pipeline, so the fitting is not reduced. It is made of AISI 304 stainless steel (material no. 1.4301) and the pressed joint is sealed by an EPDM O-ring.

Applications and operating limits
The flange is suitable for closed heating and cooling circuits, solar systems, compressed air and vacuum lines, inert and technical gases, technical and process liquids, and for draining waste water and rainwater. It withstands pressure up to PN 16, vacuum down to -0.8 bar (absolute pressure 0.2 bar), an operating temperature from -20 °C to +85 °C with a maximum of +120 °C, and antifreeze mixtures with a concentration of no more than 50 %. It is not used for drinking water – a symbol on the fitting, marked alongside the AISI 304 logo, the size and the traceability code, indicates this.
Installation
The 42 mm socket has the patented LBP (Leak Before Press) O-ring with a kinked profile, which reveals an unpressed joint during the pressure test by letting liquid leak out, plus an orange strip indicating that the joint has been pressed. Pressing is done with M-profile press jaws. Installation should be carried out by a qualified professional following the system manufacturer's installation instructions; before commissioning the heating, the manufacturer stresses flushing the entire system and recommends GEL.LONG LIFE 100 for water treatment.
