Flanged fire safety valve FIREBAG IVAR.TASF DN 65 – flanges with 4 holes, for gas installations
Code: TASF06500Product detailed description
Gas shut-off in case of fire
The IVAR.TASF is a safety valve with flanged connections that is fitted in the gas line upstream of the room or appliance to be protected. Inside is the FIREBAG® thermal fuse: a low-melting-point metal holds the closing element in the open position. When the ambient temperature reaches +100 °C (tolerance −5 K), the metal melts and a stainless steel spring shoots the closing element into the seat inside the valve. The gas flow is thus stopped completely and irreversibly – the valve cannot be reopened. It works independently, without any connection to a flame or temperature detection system.
DN 65 version
- flanges to DIN EN 1092-1, 4 holes Ø 18 mm on a Ø 145 mm bolt circle
- flange outside diameter 185 mm, face-to-face length 125 mm
- galvanised steel, max. operating pressure PN 5, operating temperature -20 to +80 °C
- thermal and time resistance +650 °C for 30 minutes to GT5 DIN 3586
- for gases to EN 437 and DVGW G260 – methane, butane, propane
- compliant with DIN 3586 and Regulation (EU) 2016/426
Installation and inspection
The valve is installed in horizontal or vertical pipework with the arrow on the body pointing in the direction of gas flow. The joint is made stress-free, with gaskets suited to the pressure, temperature and medium; thermal expansion of the pipe must be taken up by a compensator. The space in front of the valve must be kept clear so that heat can reach it in a fire; the valve must not be painted or insulated, and its location is marked with a warning sign. It is not installed outside buildings, where a temperature rise to 100 °C in a fire is not guaranteed. Design, installation and testing of the gas line are reserved for a qualified and authorised person.

Frequently asked questions
Can the valve be reopened after it has tripped?
No. Once the trip temperature is exceeded, the spring presses the closing element permanently into the seat and the valve cannot be opened again. For this reason it cannot be function-tested without being destroyed – inspection is visual only.
At what temperature does FIREBAG shut off the gas?
At an ambient temperature of +100 °C with a tolerance of −5 K, i.e. from about 95 °C. Once closed, the valve then withstands +650 °C for 30 minutes.
Can the valve be installed in a vertical pipe?
Yes, it can be installed horizontally or vertically. The gas flow direction shown by the arrow on the body must be observed and the space in front of the valve kept clear.
How often should the valve be inspected?
Once a year if it is classed as fire safety equipment. A visual check confirms that it is not covered, painted or insulated, that the casing is intact, the flanged joint is tight and the warning sign is in place.

IVAR designs, develops and manufactures highly energy-efficient heating and plumbing systems. We have over 10,000 catalogue items - mass-produced products and unique items - in addition to customised systems and combinations of complex products. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Vision
To make life easier for our clients, our clients' customers and our employees, thanks to our ability to be constantly innovative.
Mission
To design and manufacture advanced hydronic solutions that reduce installation complexity and energy consumption.
“Made in Italy” adds value
IVAR has been producing heating and plumbing system components since 1985: valves for heating bodies, direct heat metering modules, heat cost allocators, pipes and fittings, substations for heating systems, distribution manifolds, radiant panel systems, and components for solar and geothermal systems. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Over 200 people are employed at our manufacturing facilities in Prevalle (in northern Italy’s Brescia province). The site has been designed to streamline our many production and operational stages.
The Italian headquarters also acts as a hub for the wider IVAR Group, set up with the goal of distributing products beyond Italy’s borders. The group now has 11 branches, in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the United States and Tunisia.
Know How
Research, development and numerous laboratory tests guarantee that our clients’ requests can be translated into new high-efficiency products.
The stages required for production take place internally, beginning with hot forming, which is carried out at our subsidiary Valmon Stampati. Our continuous implementation of projects under the Industry 4.0 initiative also allows us to take full advantage of new releases in technology and IT to improve our manufacturing efficiency.
As a company, IVAR is constantly evolving. Every day, we invest in strengthening our products, in improving our production processes and in attaining new patents and certifications.
