Press reducer with one spigot end IVAR.IVN412 28-22 mm, stainless steel AISI 304
Code: IVN412.2822Product detailed description
The IVAR.IVN412 28-22 mm reducer made of stainless steel AISI 304 (1.4301) is a press fitting that takes the line from 28 mm down to 22 mm in a single step. The plain spigot end with a diameter of 28 mm is inserted into the press socket of another fitting of the same size; on the opposite side, a press socket with an EPDM O-ring receives the 22 mm pipe. The overall length of the reducer is 66 mm.
Applications
- closed heating and cooling circuits, solar systems
- technical and process fluids, industrial applications
- compressed air, vacuum systems, inert and technical gases
- waste water and rainwater drainage
The reducer is not intended for drinking water – a symbol in the fitting's marking points this out as well.
Operating limits
- pressure up to PN 16, vacuum down to -0.8 bar (absolute pressure 0.2 bar)
- operating temperature from -20 °C to +120 °C
- antifreeze at a concentration of max. 50 %
Installation and press check
The 22 mm socket is fitted with an LBP (Leak Before Press) O-ring with a broken profile – an unpressed joint leaks during the pressure test, so it cannot be overlooked. In addition, an orange strip sits on the socket; it tears when the joint is pressed and can be removed by hand.
Both joints – the 22 mm socket and the 28 mm spigot end in the socket of the adjoining fitting – are pressed with single-piece jaws with M profile. Push the pipe in up to the stop and mark its position with a marker. The O-ring may only be moistened with water, never with oil or grease, and each joint is pressed only once.
Note: press joints must be made by a professional in line with the IVAR.PRESS FITTING SYSTEM instructions. Before starting up the heating system, the manufacturer recommends flushing the entire system.

Frequently asked questions
Can the IVAR.IVN412 reducer be used for drinking water?
No, the AISI 304 steel fittings of this series are not intended for drinking water. They can be used, for example, in closed heating and cooling circuits, solar systems or for compressed air.
How is the 28-22 mm reducer connected?
The 22 mm pipe is pushed into the reducer's socket and pressed. The plain 28 mm end is inserted into the press socket of another 28 mm fitting and pressed together with it.
Which pressing jaws do I need?
Both joints – the 22 mm socket and the 28 mm spigot end in the socket of the adjoining fitting – are pressed with single-piece jaws with M profile. Jaws with V profile must not be used with this system.
How can I recognise an unpressed joint?
The 22 mm socket has an LBP O-ring that lets fluid escape during the pressure test if the joint has not been pressed. An intact orange strip also gives away an unpressed socket.

IVAR designs, develops and manufactures highly energy-efficient heating and plumbing systems. We have over 10,000 catalogue items - mass-produced products and unique items - in addition to customised systems and combinations of complex products. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Vision
To make life easier for our clients, our clients' customers and our employees, thanks to our ability to be constantly innovative.
Mission
To design and manufacture advanced hydronic solutions that reduce installation complexity and energy consumption.
“Made in Italy” adds value
IVAR has been producing heating and plumbing system components since 1985: valves for heating bodies, direct heat metering modules, heat cost allocators, pipes and fittings, substations for heating systems, distribution manifolds, radiant panel systems, and components for solar and geothermal systems. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Over 200 people are employed at our manufacturing facilities in Prevalle (in northern Italy’s Brescia province). The site has been designed to streamline our many production and operational stages.
The Italian headquarters also acts as a hub for the wider IVAR Group, set up with the goal of distributing products beyond Italy’s borders. The group now has 11 branches, in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the United States and Tunisia.
Know How
Research, development and numerous laboratory tests guarantee that our clients’ requests can be translated into new high-efficiency products.
The stages required for production take place internally, beginning with hot forming, which is carried out at our subsidiary Valmon Stampati. Our continuous implementation of projects under the Industry 4.0 initiative also allows us to take full advantage of new releases in technology and IT to improve our manufacturing efficiency.
As a company, IVAR is constantly evolving. Every day, we invest in strengthening our products, in improving our production processes and in attaining new patents and certifications.
