Configuration and capacity

The IVAR.XREVO-18D is a DUAL-type inverter air conditioner from the Italian manufacturer EMMETI in which two wall-mounted indoor units connect to a single outdoor unit X-REVO-1824DE with a rotary compressor: the X-REVO-0924W with 2.60 kW cooling capacity and the X-REVO-1224W with 3.10 kW. The inverter continuously varies the total nominal cooling capacity of 4.9 kW within 1.40–6.20 kW. In heating mode the system works as an air-to-air heat pump – at -10 °C outdoors it supplies 5.0 kW, and 5.90 kW nominal at 7 °C (1.50–6.60 kW).

Equipment and control

Commands are given with the infrared remote control: cooling COOL, heating HEAT, dehumidification DRY, ventilation FAN and automatic SMART mode, set temperature 16–30 °C. There are also SUPER for rapid cooling or heating, QUIET mode, ECONOMY mode, the SLEEP night programme, a TIMER, I FEEL with a temperature sensor in the remote control, 8 °C maintenance in heating mode, the CLEAN mode and automatic restart with the previous settings after a power failure. Smartphone control via the ConnectLife app requires the WiFi controller I07917566, sold separately, which connects to the control board of the indoor unit. The indoor units have a sound pressure of 38–24 dB(A) and an airflow of up to 600 m³/h, and each removes 1.0 l of water per hour; the outdoor unit reaches a sound pressure of 42 dB(A).

Installation and maintenance

Each indoor unit is connected to the outdoor unit by its own pair of refrigerant pipes 6.35 mm (1/4") and 9.52 mm (3/8"). The run to one indoor unit may be at most 20 m and all runs together 30 m; the height difference between outdoor and indoor unit is at most 15 m, and between the indoor units 7.5 m. The outdoor unit, rated IPX4, cools at outdoor temperatures from -15 to 50 °C and heats from -20 to 24 °C; it runs on single-phase 230 V / 50 Hz (max. current 11.0 A). R32 refrigerant is flammable, so installation, commissioning and servicing must be carried out only by a qualified technician. The air filters are cleaned every 100 operating hours, about every two weeks in dusty environments; the manufacturer recommends a check of the complete system every two years.

Measurement conditions: cooling at 27 (19) °C indoors and 35 °C outdoors, heating at 20 °C indoors and -10 °C outdoors.
