IVAR.IVN440 – 28 mm (code IVN440.28) is an equal 90° tee made of AISI 304 (1.4301) stainless steel. All three ends, on the run and on the branch, are press sockets (PRESS × PRESS × PRESS) for pipe with an outside diameter of 28 mm, so you can take a perpendicular branch of the same size off a continuous line.

This tee is not intended for drinking water. Its body is marked with the AISI 304 logo, the size, a traceability code and a symbol indicating that it is unsuitable for drinking water.

Pressing the 28 mm size

Joints are pressed with M-profile jaws – for diameters from 15 to 35 mm, one-piece jaws are sufficient. The V profile is prohibited for any diameter. The 28 mm size can also be pressed with a portable low-force press tool (up to 17 kN). Checking is made easier by an orange band on the socket that flags an unpressed joint, and by the LBP (Leak Before Press) O-ring with its broken profile – until the joint is pressed, liquid escapes from it during the pressure test.

Cut the pipe square to its axis, deburr it inside and out and moisten the O-ring with water at most, never with oil or grease. Push the pipe in with a slight twist up to the stop, mark the insertion depth with a marker and press the joint first time.

Can I use the IVAR.IVN440 tee for drinking water?
No. The AISI 304 stainless steel fittings in this range are not intended for drinking water, as a symbol on their body also indicates. They are suitable for closed heating and cooling circuits, solar systems, compressed air and technical gases.

Which press jaws do I need for the 28 mm size?
M-profile jaws; for 15 to 35 mm, one-piece jaws are used. V-profile jaws are prohibited with this system.

How can I tell that a joint has not been pressed yet?
The socket has an orange indicator band, and the LBP O-ring with its broken profile makes an unpressed joint leak during the pressure test. A forgotten joint is therefore spotted straight away.

Can a smaller branch be taken off the IVAR.IVN440 28 mm tee?
No, it is an equal tee – all three sockets are 28 mm. For a smaller branch, the range offers the reducing tee IVAR.IVN441.
