ITEC E-STANDARD 8 (ITEC E-S 8) is a Thermia inverter heat pump from the IVAR.HP iTec E range for family houses and apartments – for new builds as well as renovated buildings with a heat loss of up to 19 kW. It consists of a compact outdoor unit with an output of 1.7–8 kW and an indoor unit in the STANDARD version. The compressor's frequency inverter continuously adapts the output to the current heat loss of the house.

STANDARD indoor unit

The STANDARD version contains only the control system with display – a 380 × 204 × 600 mm cabinet weighing 18 kg, 230 V supply, 10 A circuit breaker. The circulation pump, diverter valve, backup heater and DHW cylinder are not included and are provided according to the design. It is used mainly in renovations where the original system components remain, or in new builds without domestic hot water production by the heat pump.

Output and efficiency

• SCOP 4.45 at 35 °C (underfloor heating) and 3.23 at 55 °C (radiators) for the average climate
• COP 4.52 at A7/W35, energy class A+++ at 35 °C and A++ at 55 °C
• flow temperature +15 to +65 °C, heating and DHW production down to an outdoor temperature of −25 °C
• cooling as standard – 7.9 kW at A35/W18 (SEER 4.52), including a signal for the cooling/heating changeover valve

Outdoor unit

Dimensions 940 × 330 × 998 mm (W × D × H), weight 76 kg, 1" male-threaded heating water connections. Power supply 400 V 3~N 50 Hz, circuit breaker 10 A. The sound pressure level at a distance of 4 m is 46 dB(A), sound power 63 dB(A). The unit is anchored to a solid foundation and must not stand in an enclosed space; defrost condensate is drained through a heated drain, never into the sewer.

System design

• at least 180 l of heating water must always be available in the system for safe defrosting
• nominal flow 7 l/min, minimum pipe size 28 mm; the flow sensor is included in the delivery
• the controller handles one direct and one mixed circuit; with an expansion card a second mixed circuit or pool heating
• photovoltaic integration via Smart Grid (optional accessory); the HPC software is recommended for sizing

Installation: Installation, electrical connection and work on the refrigerant circuit with the mildly flammable R32 refrigerant may only be carried out by qualified specialists.

Frequently asked questions

What is included in the delivery?
The outdoor unit with condensate drain elbow, the STANDARD indoor unit, a ball valve with filter, an outdoor temperature sensor, a flow sensor and documentation. Connection fittings and flexible hoses are ordered separately as accessories.

Can the STANDARD version also produce hot water?
The STANDARD indoor unit contains only the control system – it has no circulation pump, diverter valve or cylinder; these components are added according to the design. If you want the DHW components in one cabinet, choose the PLUS version (with a separate cylinder) or TOTAL.

Can the heat pump also cool?
Yes, the cooling function is included in the basic version; the cooling output is 7.9 kW at A35/W18. Cooling pipework must be insulated with vapour-tight insulation to prevent condensation.

What maintenance does the heat pump need?
Check the heating system pressure once a month (0.8–1.5 bar), the safety valves at least four times a year and clean the dirt filter twice a year. Keep the outdoor unit free of snow, ice and leaves.
