Detailed information

Product detailed description

Insulation covers for connection valves, pack of 2 pieces – supplementary part for thermal insulation of exposed valves on the connection pipe of the uniTOWER module.

The Vaillant uniTOWER system (in the plus and Split plus versions) is a compact hydraulic module in the shape of a tower with a footprint comparable to a standard refrigerator, which in one cabinet combines a hot water tank with a volume of 190 l, a complete heating hydraulic system, a backup electric heater and a control unit. The module is connected in the aroTHERM / aroTHERM plus / aroTHERM Split system to the external (or internal, in the Split version) unit of the air-to-water heat pump and is responsible for the distribution of heat to the heating circuit and the preparation of hot water. That is why, since most of the components are integrated directly in the tower body, Vaillant offers a range of supplementary, connecting and service parts for the module, which allow the hydraulics to be adapted to a specific installation – ceiling height, connection side, need for hot water circulation or additional hydraulic separation of circuits.

Heat pump aroTHERM and the position of the part in the system

Heat pumps of the aroTHERM / aroTHERM plus / aroTHERM Split range extract heat from the air even at low outside temperatures and transfer it to the heating circuit and to the hot water tank via the uniTOWER module. Since compared to a gas boiler, lower temperatures of the heating water are used and greater emphasis is placed on the correct hydraulic balancing of the entire circuit, the quality and compatibility of each individual hydraulic part – including expansion vessels, circulation and connection kits – is directly linked to the overall efficiency and quiet operation of the system. The use of non-original or incorrectly dimensioned parts can negatively affect both the hydraulic balance and the declared performance coefficient (COP) of the system.

Composition of the delivery and packaging

The part is delivered in the original Vaillant packaging, which protects the connection threads and sealing surfaces from damage during transport. The delivery always includes the necessary assembly documentation (assembly instructions) in a language supported by the manufacturer, based on which the service technician will verify the correct sequence of assembly steps, tightening moments of connections and the method of testing the tightness after connection.

Lifespan, service and preventive maintenance

The hydraulic components of the uniTOWER module are designed for long-term maintenance-free operation, nevertheless we recommend that during the regular annual service inspection of the heat pump, this part should also be checked – especially the tightness of the connections, possible signs of corrosion or medium leakage and the functionality of the associated valves. Early preventive inspection prolongs the life of the entire system and reduces the risk of unplanned heating or hot water preparation shutdown, especially during the winter period.

What the covers are used for

Even when using an insulated connection kit, some valves – mainly shut-off and connection valves – remain accessible and non-insulated for structural reasons, as they must remain manually operable during service or system shutdown. These flexible or shaped insulation covers are simply slid onto the body of the valve and additionally reduce heat loss and the risk of surface condensation precisely at the valve location, which would otherwise remain a "cold bridge" in an otherwise insulated pipe distribution.

Technical parameters

  • Type: insulation cover for connection valve
  • Packaging: 2 pieces
  • Purpose: supplementary insulation of valves on the connection pipe of the uniTOWER
  • Simple mounting by sliding onto the body of the valve, without the need to shut down the system
  • Compatible with standard and low-profile connection kits of the uniTOWER

When it is worth to order the covers additionally

  • During installation in a colder or more humid technical room, where moisture condenses on non-insulated valves
  • When trying to maximally reduce heat losses in an already insulated pipe distribution
  • As an aesthetic unification of the appearance of insulation around the entire connection node of the module

Installation

Unlike most other parts in this category, the installation of insulation covers is simple and does not require professional qualification or intervention in the hydraulics – the covers are simply slid or wrapped around the body of the valve. Nevertheless, we recommend that the installation be entrusted to a service technician during a routine service visit to ensure proper seating and aesthetic and functional result.

Frequently asked questions

Do these covers fit valves on all connection kits in this range?
Covers are designed as universal supplementary accessories for connection valves of the uniTOWER module, but we recommend verifying the specific type of installed valves before ordering.

Is it necessary to replace the covers during valve service?
Covers can be easily removed during service and then put back on after the service is completed, without the need to replace them with new ones.

Why are they sold in a pack of 2 pieces?
The packaging corresponds to the typical number of accessible connection valves on one connection kit (e.g. supply and return).

Why order this part at atria.sk

We are a specialized e-shop focused on heating technology, heat pumps and related accessories, including less common service and supplementary parts that cannot be found in regular hobby stores. By ordering from us, you are assured that it is an original Vaillant part delivered through an authorized distributor, not an unverified replacement from an unknown source. For larger orders of related accessories (e.g. a complete connection kit together with an expansion vessel and a drain kit), we will gladly prepare a joint offer and recommendation based on the type of your specific uniTOWER module.

Our sales representatives are in regular contact with service technicians and installation companies that actually carry out the installation of uniTOWER modules and aroTHERM heat pumps in the field – thanks to this, we can choose the right part not only based on catalog data, but also on practical experience with specific types of connections. If you are unsure which exact variant of the part (e.g. connection side, insulated or non-insulated version) your system requires, do not hesitate to contact us before placing your order – this will help you avoid possible exchange or return of the goods.

Warranty, supplier and support

We provide a 2-year warranty on this original Vaillant part. The product is delivered by an authorized Vaillant partner for the Slovak market, the company WINTNER s.r.o., which guarantees the authenticity of the part and its full compatibility with other components of the uniTOWER system. When ordering, we recommend specifying the exact designation and side version of the installed uniTOWER module (type, performance range, plus / Split plus version), so that we can verify 100% compatibility of the part before shipping. In case of any uncertainties when selecting the correct part or when planning the installation, we will gladly advise you by phone or email – contact our sales department before ordering if you are unsure about the compatibility with your specific model.

Heat Pump Systems

A heat pump is a device that transfers heat from one location to another using a refrigeration cycle. It can be used for both heating and cooling purposes, making it a versatile solution for climate control in residential and commercial buildings.

There are several types of heat pumps, including air-source, ground-source (geothermal), and water-source heat pumps. Each type has its own advantages and is suitable for different applications and environments.

  • Air-source heat pumps extract heat from the outside air and transfer it indoors during the heating season. In the cooling season, the process is reversed.
  • Ground-source heat pumps use the relatively stable temperature of the ground to provide heating and cooling. They are more efficient but require more installation space and initial investment.
  • Water-source heat pumps use a body of water (such as a lake or pond) as a heat source or sink. They are highly efficient but are limited to locations with access to a suitable water source.

Heat pumps are known for their energy efficiency, as they move heat rather than generate it. This results in lower energy consumption and reduced greenhouse gas emissions compared to traditional heating systems.

Modern heat pumps are equipped with advanced features such as variable-speed compressors, smart thermostats, and zoning capabilities, which enhance comfort and efficiency. They can also be integrated with renewable energy sources like solar panels to further reduce environmental impact.

When selecting a heat pump system, it is important to consider factors such as climate, building size, insulation, and energy costs. A professional assessment can help determine the most suitable system for a particular application.
