What it is used for

SMARTY 2X P (code IVU200P) is a central ventilation unit with heat recovery for apartments, family homes and passive houses. It extracts stale air and excess moisture and replaces it with fresh outdoor air, which is preheated in the heat exchanger by the heat of the exhaust air – the house is ventilated without opening windows and with minimal heat loss.

The unit is mounted under the ceiling and thanks to its height of only 250 mm offers many installation options. The version with an enthalpic heat exchanger has the code IVU200PE (SMARTY 2X PE).

Construction and equipment

• plastic counterflow plate heat exchanger with thermal efficiency of 81 % (data according to EU Regulation 1254/2014), energy efficiency class A for average climate
• EC fans with variable speed control – power consumption at maximum flow 103 W, reference specific power index SPI 0.33 W/(m³/h), sound power level 49 dB(A)
• summer bypass with servomotor for 100 % bypass of the heat exchanger and night cooling
• Coarse 65 % (G4) filters on the supply and exhaust side, size 185 × 168 × 25 mm; for outdoor air it is possible to use filter ePM1 70 % (F7)
• enclosure made of galvanized steel with powder coating in white color RAL 9016 (corrosion resistance C3), thermal and acoustic insulation from EPP of thickness 20 mm, tightness class A1

Control and accessories

The integrated control board miniMCB measures the temperature of the outdoor, supplied and extracted air and controls the fans, bypass and external components (preheater, reheater, air regulators). It offers three manual modes, intensive ventilation (boost), a timer program, night cooling, mode for fireplaces and intelligent anti-frost protection; it is possible to connect a CO2 sensor (IVAR.CO2) or humidity sensor.

The controller is not part of the unit – the wall controller (IVAR.TCP, IVAR.ST-SA, IVAR.SA-WIFI, IVAR.STOUCH) or the interface IVAR.MB-GATEWAY, which allows control from a PC and via the IVAR.SMARTYAIR app on a smartphone or tablet, must be ordered separately. An electric preheater IVAR.EKA (1.2 kW) is available for preheating the outdoor air, and an independent reheater IVAR.EKA NI (1.2 kW) with control GRGT034 is available for reheating the supplied air.

Installation

The dimensions of the unit (length × width × height) are 1010 × 590 × 250 mm, weight 40 kg. It is powered by a single-phase network 230 V / 50 Hz, total power / consumption is 0.16 kW / 1.05 A. The unit operates inside the building at ambient temperature 5 to 40 °C and ambient humidity up to 70 %; without anti-frost protection it can process outdoor air from -2 °C. Anti-frost protection works with an imbalance of flows and can create negative pressure in the house – for appliances that take air from the room (fireplace, boiler), the manufacturer recommends turning it off and using a preheater. It is not installed in living rooms without additional noise insulation and is not intended for pools or saunas. Installation, electrical connection and maintenance must be carried out only by a qualified technician and the unit must be grounded.

What is included in the delivery and what needs to be ordered separately?
The unit is delivered with mounting accessories – four anti-vibration pads, cover plugs, a key and an outlet pipe G3/8. The controller (IVAR.TCP, IVAR.ST-SA, IVAR.SA-WIFI, IVAR.STOUCH or interface IVAR.MB-GATEWAY) and ventilation ducts must be ordered separately.

Where should the unit not be installed?
Only in living rooms with additional noise insulation and never in pools, saunas or similar spaces. The unit is intended for indoor use with ambient temperature 5 to 40 °C and humidity up to 70 %.

How often are the filters changed?
The manufacturer recommends changing them every 3 to 4 months or sooner according to the warning on the controller. Coarse 65 % (G4) filters with dimensions 185 × 168 × 25 mm are used, for outdoor air also ePM1 70 % (F7); the unit must not be operated without filters.

Does the unit need preheating of outdoor air?
Without anti-frost protection, SMARTY 2X P operates with outdoor air from -2 °C. For colder periods, an electric preheater IVAR.EKA (1.2 kW) is added to it; model 2X P is also produced with an integrated preheater of 1 kW (IVU200PPH, IVU200PEPH).
