PPSU reducing press coupling 40x32 IVAR.VR PPSU – reducer for ALPEX pipes
Code: 82840170Product detailed description
Transition between two pipe sizes
The IVAR.VR PPSU 40x32 reducing coupling from the IVAR.PRESS system reduces the line size directly along the run – a Ø 40 mm pipe is pressed on one side and a Ø 32 mm pipe on the other (pipe sizes 40 x 3.5 / 32 x 3.0 mm). It is suitable for ALPEX and TURATEC multilayer pipes and PEX pipes in radiator connections, underfloor heating and sanitary installations; it holds a hygiene certificate for contact with drinking water.
Materials and dimensions
- body made of polyphenylsulfone (PPSU), resistant to corrosion and deposits
- press sleeves of AISI 304 stainless steel, EPDM O-rings
- polycarbonate positioning ring with windows for checking pipe insertion
- length L1 84 mm, Z1 10 mm, weight 91 g
Pressing and installation
The joint is pressed radially with jaws of the matching diameter (Ø 40 mm: F, Ø 32 mm: B/F contour), only with an approved pressing tool according to the IVAR instructions for joining pipes with IVAR.PRESS fittings. The pipe must be cut square, calibrated and deburred; insertion can be eased with water, but never with oil or other lubricants. The joint is made without an open flame, can be pressurised immediately after pressing and may be concealed in floors, shafts or under plaster.

Frequently asked questions
Which pipes does the 40x32 reducing coupling join?
A 40 mm pipe with a 32 mm pipe – ALPEX and TURATEC multilayer pipes or PEX pipes sized 40 x 3.5 / 32 x 3.0 mm. The IVAR instructions do not allow the system to be combined with pipes and fittings from other manufacturers.
Which press jaws are required?
For this size IVAR approves jaws with the Ø 40 mm: F, Ø 32 mm: B/F contour. Pressing must be done with a tool from the compatibility list in the IVAR.PRESS instructions, for example REMS IVAR.MINI-PRESS or NOVOPRESS IVAR.ACO.
Can the joint stay concealed in a wall or floor?
Yes, pressed IVAR.PRESS joints may be inaccessible in floors, shafts and under plaster. The system must, however, be protected from UV radiation and weather.
Can the coupling be reused after pressing?
No. According to the IVAR instructions, a fitting that has already been pressed must not be used again.

IVAR designs, develops and manufactures highly energy-efficient heating and plumbing systems. We have over 10,000 catalogue items - mass-produced products and unique items - in addition to customised systems and combinations of complex products. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Vision
To make life easier for our clients, our clients' customers and our employees, thanks to our ability to be constantly innovative.
Mission
To design and manufacture advanced hydronic solutions that reduce installation complexity and energy consumption.
“Made in Italy” adds value
IVAR has been producing heating and plumbing system components since 1985: valves for heating bodies, direct heat metering modules, heat cost allocators, pipes and fittings, substations for heating systems, distribution manifolds, radiant panel systems, and components for solar and geothermal systems. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Over 200 people are employed at our manufacturing facilities in Prevalle (in northern Italy’s Brescia province). The site has been designed to streamline our many production and operational stages.
The Italian headquarters also acts as a hub for the wider IVAR Group, set up with the goal of distributing products beyond Italy’s borders. The group now has 11 branches, in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the United States and Tunisia.
Know How
Research, development and numerous laboratory tests guarantee that our clients’ requests can be translated into new high-efficiency products.
The stages required for production take place internally, beginning with hot forming, which is carried out at our subsidiary Valmon Stampati. Our continuous implementation of projects under the Industry 4.0 initiative also allows us to take full advantage of new releases in technology and IT to improve our manufacturing efficiency.
As a company, IVAR is constantly evolving. Every day, we invest in strengthening our products, in improving our production processes and in attaining new patents and certifications.
