Detailed information

Product detailed description

The IVAR.CS 501 MST set in size 5/4" × 1/2" distributes heating water to residential or commercial units, and each of the 3 outlets has its own supply line that can be shut off. The outlets are prepared for heat meters, so the consumption of all units is read at one central point.

How to add heat meters

  • close the ball valves at the set inlet and on the individual outlets
  • release the pressure with the manual air vents
  • remove the 110 mm installation spacers and fit the meters in their place
  • refill the system and vent it

The meter belongs in the return pipe, the temperature sensor in the flow pipe. The sensor (M 10 × 1 connection) is inserted into the ball valve with sensor pocket on the flow manifold, which must be turned by 45° during installation.

Set contents

  • flow and return manifold body, mounting brackets
  • manual air vents, fill/drain ball valves
  • ball valves with union nuts and flat seals
  • ball valves with pocket for the heat meter temperature sensor
  • threaded nipples and installation spacers

The set is supplied pre-assembled; during installation the joints only need a check tightening. Ball valves for the main flow and return are not included – the valve with the red lever goes on the flow manifold, the one with the blue lever on the return.

Installation and accessories

The flow is connected to the upper part (flow manifold), the return to the lower part (return manifold), from the left or the right. This size suits an IVAR.P-KLASIK 3 flush-mounted cabinet (depth 110–160 mm) or an IVAR.N-KLASIK 3 wall cabinet (depth 130 mm). Optional extras include the IVAR.AC 619 / AC 619 L corner connection, the IVAR.9723 R ball valve set, the IVAR.WFM (MEGATRON 5) heat and cooling meter or the IVAR.PICV dynamic balancing valve. The body is made from drawn CW617N brass bars, heat-treated against internal stress; threads to ISO 228, operation up to PN 10 and +120 °C. Seal threads with PTFE tape, thread, paste or gel; hemp is not recommended. Installation must be carried out by a qualified person and the system flushed before start-up.

Frequently asked questions

Is a heat meter included in the set?
No. The outlets carry 110 mm installation spacers that are later replaced by heat meters, for example IVAR.WFM (MEGATRON 5).

Where are the meter and the temperature sensor installed?
The heat meter always goes in the return pipe, the temperature sensor in the flow pipe. The sensor is inserted into the ball valve with pocket on the flow manifold, which must be turned by 45° during installation.

Which cabinet suits the 400366NMST set?
The flush-mounted IVAR.P-KLASIK 3 with adjustable depth of 110–160 mm or the IVAR.N-KLASIK 3 wall cabinet with a depth of 130 mm. The cabinet is ordered separately.

Are ball valves for the main supply included?
No, the valves for the main flow and return are optional. The valve with the red lever is fitted on the flow manifold, the one with the blue lever on the return.

IVAR designs, develops and manufactures highly energy-efficient heating and plumbing systems. We have over 10,000 catalogue items - mass-produced products and unique items - in addition to customised systems and combinations of complex products. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.

Vision
To make life easier for our clients, our clients' customers and our employees, thanks to our ability to be constantly innovative.

Mission
To design and manufacture advanced hydronic solutions that reduce installation complexity and energy consumption.

“Made in Italy” adds value

IVAR has been producing heating and plumbing system components since 1985: valves for heating bodies, direct heat metering modules, heat cost allocators, pipes and fittings, substations for heating systems, distribution manifolds, radiant panel systems, and components for solar and geothermal systems. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Over 200 people are employed at our manufacturing facilities in Prevalle (in northern Italy’s Brescia province). The site has been designed to streamline our many production and operational stages.

The Italian headquarters also acts as a hub for the wider IVAR Group, set up with the goal of distributing products beyond Italy’s borders. The group now has 11 branches, in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the United States and Tunisia.

Know How
Research, development and numerous laboratory tests guarantee that our clients’ requests can be translated into new high-efficiency products.

The stages required for production take place internally, beginning with hot forming, which is carried out at our subsidiary Valmon Stampati. Our continuous implementation of projects under the Industry 4.0 initiative also allows us to take full advantage of new releases in technology and IT to improve our manufacturing efficiency.

As a company, IVAR is constantly evolving. Every day, we invest in strengthening our products, in improving our production processes and in attaining new patents and certifications.
