Automatic make-up valve IVAR.GA 00 with manometer – 1/2" M x 1/2" F, setting 0.5 to 4 bar
Code: 509000Product detailed description
Constant pressure in heating without the need for technician intervention
During normal operation, the pressure in the system gradually decreases as gases dissolved in the water escape through air vents and air separators. When the pressure drops below the limit value, the heat source is turned off and waits for the pressure to be restored. IVAR.GA 00 is installed between the cold water supply and the heating circuit: when the pressure drops below the set value, it automatically admits water from the mains and, once the desired pressure is reached, the control panel closes the inflow again.
What the unit contains
- pressure regulator with a range of 0.5 to 4 bar, factory-set to 1.5 bar
- pressure gauge with a range of 0 to 6 bar for checking the setting
- check valve that prevents return of heating water into the cold water supply
- metal filter mesh with a porosity of 500 µm to prevent dirt from entering
- shut-off valve with a white manual handle to pause water admission
- connecting fittings, connection 1/2" M x 1/2" F, body made of brass CW617N
- max. operating pressure 16 bar, max. temperature 65 °C
Installation and setting
The valve can be mounted on horizontal or vertical piping, always in the direction of the arrow on the body. It is usually placed between two ball valves, which are closed during filter cleaning, and an additional filter is recommended on the cold water connection. The manufacturer also recommends a ball valve on the water supply, which is opened only during water admission. The output pressure is adjusted using an Allen key – turning clockwise increases the pressure – and the setting can be sealed. Installation must be carried out by a qualified plumber.

Frequently asked questions
What pressure is the valve set to from the factory?
The output pressure is factory-set to 1.5 bar. You can adjust it using an Allen key within the range of 0.5 to 4 bar and check the value on the pressure gauge.
Can automatic water admission be temporarily turned off?
Yes, by turning the white manual handle to the right, clockwise, the shut-off valve closes and water admission stops.
How is the filter mesh cleaned?
Close the ball valves before and after the unit, unscrew the central screw of the manual handle, and remove the shut-off insert with the filter. Rinse or replace the mesh, reassemble the unit, and check the set pressure.
Can heating water return to the water supply?
No, the unit has an integrated check valve that prevents the return of heating water if the pressure in the cold water supply drops.

IVAR designs, develops and manufactures highly energy-efficient heating and plumbing systems. We have over 10,000 catalogue items - mass-produced products and unique items - in addition to customised systems and combinations of complex products. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Vision
To make life easier for our clients, our clients' customers and our employees, thanks to our ability to be constantly innovative.
Mission
To design and manufacture advanced hydronic solutions that reduce installation complexity and energy consumption.
“Made in Italy” adds value
IVAR has been producing heating and plumbing system components since 1985: valves for heating bodies, direct heat metering modules, heat cost allocators, pipes and fittings, substations for heating systems, distribution manifolds, radiant panel systems, and components for solar and geothermal systems. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Over 200 people are employed at our manufacturing facilities in Prevalle (in northern Italy’s Brescia province). The site has been designed to streamline our many production and operational stages.
The Italian headquarters also acts as a hub for the wider IVAR Group, set up with the goal of distributing products beyond Italy’s borders. The group now has 11 branches, in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the United States and Tunisia.
Know How
Research, development and numerous laboratory tests guarantee that our clients’ requests can be translated into new high-efficiency products.
The stages required for production take place internally, beginning with hot forming, which is carried out at our subsidiary Valmon Stampati. Our continuous implementation of projects under the Industry 4.0 initiative also allows us to take full advantage of new releases in technology and IT to improve our manufacturing efficiency.
As a company, IVAR is constantly evolving. Every day, we invest in strengthening our products, in improving our production processes and in attaining new patents and certifications.
