Column filter for removing sediments from water IVAR.DESAND 200-5 – WSCI unit with 5 buttons, connection 6/4"
Code: IVA.620.DS5Product detailed description
The column filter IVAR.DESAND 200-5 is used for removing sediments from drinking and utility water. The captured impurities are flushed out of the media during a backwash (BACKWASH) into the waste – regeneration uses only backwash water and nothing is added to the water. The filter can be combined with dosing pumps.
Size 200
- dimensions: 522 × 522 × 2106 mm, at least 200 mm of space must be left above the filter and space for connection
- inlet/outlet connection: 6/4"
- max. operating pressure 6 bar, temperature of treated water 5 – 35 °C
- installation in a dry place at ambient temperature 5 – 40 °C on a flat surface
Control unit WSCI
The unit controls regeneration based on time or volume. The current time is set using the SET CLOCK button, NEXT and arrows are used to navigate the menu, and holding the REGEN button for 3 seconds starts an immediate manual regeneration. A short press of REGEN schedules regeneration for the next set time. Operating parameters are set by a technician during commissioning.
Installation and start-up
A mechanical impurities filter with a 60 – 20 µm insert (e.g. GEL.DEPURA) is installed after the filter, as well as shut-off valves, pressure gauges, and sampling valves on the inlet and outlet. The entire treatment unit is equipped with a closable bypass. A connection to the sewer, a 230 V socket, and a backwash pressure of at least 3 bar at a flow rate of 3.6 m³/h for 20 – 30 minutes are required. Before start-up, the filter is rinsed with the outlet closed until clear water flows from the waste. During commissioning, the oxidizing agent is dosed by pump DP1, and the setup is performed by a technician from an authorized company.

Frequently asked questions
Does the DESAND filter require salt or chemicals for regeneration?
No, the media is regenerated using only backwash water. Therefore, the filter must be permanently connected to a waste system with sufficient capacity.
What should be connected after the filter?
A mechanical impurities filter with a 60 – 20 µm porous insert, for example GEL.DEPURA. The system also includes shut-off valves, pressure gauges, sampling valves, and a bypass.
What water pressure and flow rate are required?
A minimum pressure of 3 bar and a flow rate of 3.6 m³/h for approximately 20 to 30 minutes are required for regular backwash.
Who puts the filter into operation?
The customer performs the pre-start rinse, while the setup and commissioning, including dosing of the oxidizing agent via pump DP1, are carried out by a technician from an authorized company. Failure to do so will void the warranty for repairs.

IVAR designs, develops and manufactures highly energy-efficient heating and plumbing systems. We have over 10,000 catalogue items - mass-produced products and unique items - in addition to customised systems and combinations of complex products. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Vision
To make life easier for our clients, our clients' customers and our employees, thanks to our ability to be constantly innovative.
Mission
To design and manufacture advanced hydronic solutions that reduce installation complexity and energy consumption.
“Made in Italy” adds value
IVAR has been producing heating and plumbing system components since 1985: valves for heating bodies, direct heat metering modules, heat cost allocators, pipes and fittings, substations for heating systems, distribution manifolds, radiant panel systems, and components for solar and geothermal systems. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Over 200 people are employed at our manufacturing facilities in Prevalle (in northern Italy’s Brescia province). The site has been designed to streamline our many production and operational stages.
The Italian headquarters also acts as a hub for the wider IVAR Group, set up with the goal of distributing products beyond Italy’s borders. The group now has 11 branches, in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the United States and Tunisia.
Know How
Research, development and numerous laboratory tests guarantee that our clients’ requests can be translated into new high-efficiency products.
The stages required for production take place internally, beginning with hot forming, which is carried out at our subsidiary Valmon Stampati. Our continuous implementation of projects under the Industry 4.0 initiative also allows us to take full advantage of new releases in technology and IT to improve our manufacturing efficiency.
As a company, IVAR is constantly evolving. Every day, we invest in strengthening our products, in improving our production processes and in attaining new patents and certifications.
