Demineralization Cartridge IVAR.PERMASOFT ALU (IVAR.PT-PS5000ALU) – 3/4" M, for Boilers with AlSi Heat Exchanger – Special Offer
Code: IVAPTPS5000ALUProduct detailed description
IVAR.PERMASOFT ALU (type IVAR.PT-PS5000ALU, code IVAPTPS5000ALU) is a single-use cartridge containing a mixture of ion-exchange resins and a pH stabilizer, which removes minerals and salts from water when filling the heating system. This is the version for heating systems with heat exchangers made of an aluminum and silicon alloy (AlSi); exhaustion of the filling is indicated by a color change. It operates without chemical additives and without electrical power.
Effect on water
- reduction of total mineralization and water conductivity – unlike conventional softening
- protection against limescale and corrosion, also removes chlorides and sulfates
- alkalization of water to pH 8.2 to 9
- water treatment in accordance with VDI 2035 guideline (part 1) in one step
Application and installation
- connection 3/4" M (DN 20) directly to the water supply, the direction of flow is indicated by an arrow
- max. pressure 6 bar, max. temperature 50 °C, max. flow rate 8 l/min
- intended for short-term use when filling or topping up the system, up to 36 months
- before filling with demineralized water, it is recommended to flush the system with a suitable flushing agent
The filling capacity is 5000 °GSG × l, so the amount of treated water depends on the total hardness of the supply water. To monitor exhaustion, the manufacturer recommends the conductivity meter IVAR.PT-LFS – when the capacity is exhausted, its red LED will start blinking. The exhausted filling can be ecologically replaced in the return container at the manufacturer. Made in Germany.

Frequently asked questions
What is the IVAR.PERMASOFT ALU cartridge used for?
It demineralizes the water used to fill or top up the heating system. This helps meet the boiler manufacturers' requirements for water quality and the VDI 2035 part 1 guideline.
How much water can the cartridge treat?
The filling capacity is 5000 °GSG × l, so the amount of treated water depends on the total hardness of the supply water. Exhaustion is indicated by a color change in the filling.
How do I know when the cartridge is exhausted?
The manufacturer recommends adding the conductivity meter IVAR.PT-LFS with a 3/4" connection. When the cartridge capacity is exhausted, its red LED will start blinking.
How does the ALU version differ from the standard cartridge?
It is intended for systems with heat exchangers made of an aluminum and silicon alloy (AlSi) and alkalizes the water to pH 8.2 to 9. The standard IVAR.PERMASOFT cartridge (IVAPTPS5000) achieves a pH of 8.2 to 10.

IVAR designs, develops and manufactures highly energy-efficient heating and plumbing systems. We have over 10,000 catalogue items - mass-produced products and unique items - in addition to customised systems and combinations of complex products. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Vision
To make life easier for our clients, our clients' customers and our employees, thanks to our ability to be constantly innovative.
Mission
To design and manufacture advanced hydronic solutions that reduce installation complexity and energy consumption.
“Made in Italy” adds value
IVAR has been producing heating and plumbing system components since 1985: valves for heating bodies, direct heat metering modules, heat cost allocators, pipes and fittings, substations for heating systems, distribution manifolds, radiant panel systems, and components for solar and geothermal systems. And it’s all “Made in Italy”.
Over 200 people are employed at our manufacturing facilities in Prevalle (in northern Italy’s Brescia province). The site has been designed to streamline our many production and operational stages.
The Italian headquarters also acts as a hub for the wider IVAR Group, set up with the goal of distributing products beyond Italy’s borders. The group now has 11 branches, in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, the United States and Tunisia.
Know How
Research, development and numerous laboratory tests guarantee that our clients’ requests can be translated into new high-efficiency products.
The stages required for production take place internally, beginning with hot forming, which is carried out at our subsidiary Valmon Stampati. Our continuous implementation of projects under the Industry 4.0 initiative also allows us to take full advantage of new releases in technology and IT to improve our manufacturing efficiency.
As a company, IVAR is constantly evolving. Every day, we invest in strengthening our products, in improving our production processes and in attaining new patents and certifications.
