The model NW 650 with code 1602010002 is a flanged filter for mechanical impurities designed for large water flows – an average of 25 m³/h at a pressure loss of 0.2 bar. The water in the filter head first passes through a centrifugal pre-filtration with a cyclone effect and then through a nylon insert with a porosity of 25 µm and a filtration area of 1288 cm². The trapped sand, silt or rust is flushed out by water into the drain after opening the drain valve. The filter is manufactured by the Belgian company AIRWATEC (brand CINTROPUR) and the materials used are suitable for drinking water and the food industry.

Where is it used

In industry, it protects sanitary fittings and machining tools, in agriculture it filters water for irrigation and animal feeding, rainwater and water from wells and tanks. In residential and commercial buildings – hotels, restaurants, schools or apartment buildings – it protects household plumbing and sanitary installations.

Packaging and accessories

Installation and maintenance

The filter is installed on the water inlet after the water meter or after the pump, with a bypass and shut-off valves; never on the suction side of the pump. The piping must not carry the weight of the filter (7 kg). The flanges are connected to the head with a metric thread M76 × 2.8, so it is necessary to use the original supplied parts; their bolts are tightened only slightly – 50 Nm for flat gaskets and 25 Nm for profiled gaskets. At a pressure above 10 bar, a pressure-reducing valve must be installed before the filter, and in a system without an expansion tank, a balancing pressure tank with a volume of at least 2 l is required. The insert must be cleaned or replaced when the pressure difference is 2 bar, but at least three times a year; inserts of 25, 50 and 100 µm are single-use, nylon inserts of 150 and 300 µm can be cleaned. Spare inserts are delivered in sets of 5 pcs (25 µm: 1702045752). It is advisable to disinfect drinking water systems after installation.

What bolts and gaskets do I need for the NW 650 flanges?
The flange is fastened with 4 bolts M16 and sealed with a flat EPDM gasket PN 10 or PN 16. The bolts are tightened to 50 Nm for flat gaskets and to 25 Nm for profiled gaskets.

Can I install the filter on the pump suction side?
No, the filter must not be installed on the suction side of the pump or in places where a vacuum occurs in the water supply. It is always installed with a bypass and shut-off valves.
