Brass manifolds for underfloor heating

When we think of underfloor heating, most of us picture warm parquet or tiles that we can walk on barefoot even in the depths of a cold winter. How such heating actually works is complex, however, and it takes a number of components to give us that pleasant feeling of warm feet in the home. One of them is the underfloor heating manifold.

You will find our range in the brass manifolds category, and the whole system in the underfloor heating category.

The benefits manifolds provide

Manifolds for underfloor and radiator heating are devices designed to mix and distribute the flow of water from the boiler to the radiators or underfloor heating. If you decide to build your heating around such a manifold, you will be able to enjoy several advantages this solution offers.

The greatest strength of a manifold is the ability to regulate the water flow. This lets you easily adjust the individual underfloor heating loops and so achieve an even transfer of heat into the floor.

Another advantage is the balancing of the pipework in radiator heating. It makes it possible to compensate  for the uneven  distribution  of flow rates  in  an installation caused by the height of the floors, the length of the supply pipes or the pressure losses of the components in the circuit. If the system is not balanced, energy consumption will be higher. At the same time, comfort for the occupants will suffer, as some places will be under-heated and others overheated.

Brass or stainless steel?

Once you have decided to use a manifold for your underfloor heating, the next step is to choose its material. You can pick from IVAR brass manifolds with or without a pump, or German-made stainless steel manifolds.

If you choose a manifold made of high-quality stainless steel, it can be used with all types of plastic pipe, including multilayer pipe, and with copper. Underfloor heating manifolds are fitted with flow meters with a flow indicator and memory, and with thermostatic valves on each circuit. This allows every heating circuit to be controlled separately.

However, if you are heating a larger floor area, or plan to combine underfloor heating with conventional radiators, we recommend choosing a brass manifold with a pump.

Four-way brass manifold for underfloor heating

As with the stainless steel manifold, the brass manifold can be used with all types of plastic pipe, including multilayer pipe, and with copper. The red flow meters on top of the manifold let you set roughly the same water flow in each loop. The valves under the white plastic caps allow you to shut the manifold off. Removing the caps makes room for fitting a controllable actuator. Each manifold also comes with an automatic air vent and a rotary drain valve. If required, you can also fit a  ball valve to the manifold, although this is not included in the package.

Brass manifolds for underfloor heating are fitted with double-regulating flow meters with a flow indicator and memory. Each circuit has a thermostatic valve, so every heating circuit can be controlled separately. The manifolds are available in versions with 2 to 12 circuits. The manifold is connected to the boiler by an internal link. The individual pipes are connected using three-quarter-inch compression fittings.

If you have decided to install a brass manifold, the practical package contains the manifold unassembled, with steel brackets attached. It is easy to put together, so you will have no trouble assembling it and  connecting it up by following the enclosed instructions. If anything is unclear, or there is something you cannot work out with it, do not hesitate to ask us. The team of heating experts at ATRIA SK will be glad to help you with your heating requirements.
