PEX, PE-RT pipe

PEX and PE-RT pipes are available for ceiling and wall heating and cooling systems. Thin 10x1.3 and 12x2 mm pipes on 200 and 240 m coils connect panels and surfaces, while PEX 20x2 with an insulating jacket in 25 m lengths, in blue and red, is meant for the main distribution lines.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the difference between PEX and PE-RT pipe? PEX (cross-linked polyethylene) has higher thermal and pressure resistance thanks to the cross-linking of chains, while PE-RT (heat-resistant polyethylene) is more flexible and easier to handle when installing connecting branches to the panels.
  • Why does the pipe have colour coding (blue/red)? The colour only makes it easier to distinguish between the flow and return pipes during installation of the distribution system; it has no effect on functionality.
  • What does a thermally insulating jacket on the pipe mean? A jacketed pipe reduces heat loss when routed through unheated spaces or when running several circuits alongside each other.
  • Is the pipe also suitable for cooling? Yes, both PEX and PE-RT pipes with an oxygen barrier can withstand the normal operating temperatures of both the cooling and heating circuits of surface systems.
