Vaillant – Connection of the outdoor unit Pressfit (crimp connection), also suitable for the indoor unit
Original connection kit from Vaillant for the refrigerant/heat pump circuit between the outdoor and indoor unit of the aroTHERM plus heat pump, designed as two flexible stainless steel corrugated hoses with a pressfit termination. The kit is designed for direct, compact installation "back to the wall" – i.e., where the outdoor unit is placed directly at the transition into the building and a long pipe route through the ground or through the wall with additional thermal insulation sleeve is not required.
Construction and design
The kit includes 2× stainless steel corrugated (flexible) tubes typically about 425 mm in length, one end of which terminates in a flat sealing neck with a slip-on nut (usually G 1 1/4"), prepared for screwing onto the connecting neck of the unit, and the other end has a smooth end with a diameter of approx. 35 mm, intended for direct crimping into the pipe system leading to the heating system/indoor unit using a system crimping tool. It also includes a set of insulation (Armaflex) for both connections, which ensures both thermal insulation of the line and compliance with the requirements for diffusion-tight sealing of gaps against condensation.
Why the crimp (pressfit) version
The crimp connection (in contrast to the threaded/bolted version – see our product "Connection of the outdoor unit Threaded") provides a permanent, mechanically strong and long-term tight connection without the need for resealing or retightening after years of operation, which is particularly advantageous in hidden or hard-to-reach installation areas. It requires professional system crimping pliers with the appropriate jaw (e.g. Viega, Geberit or equivalent system, depending on the type of end), so the installation is carried out exclusively by a qualified authorized service technician.
Application
This kit is used as a connecting link between the short section of the pipe leading from the outdoor unit (or from its connecting assembly, e.g. a set for installation under or through the wall) and the distribution pipe leading to the indoor hydraulic module/uniTOWER. Due to the flexibility of the corrugated tube, it allows compensation for minor construction inaccuracies and at the same time dampens the transmission of vibrations from the compressor to the fixed pipe system of the house – similarly to a flexible hose in a car that dampens engine vibrations against the body.

Installation notes
Before crimping, it is necessary to check the coaxiality of the tube and the cleanliness of the sealing surface to avoid micro-leaks in the refrigerant circuit (in the case of monoblock units aroTHERM, it is heating water, not refrigerant, since the refrigerant circuit is closed directly in the outdoor unit). After crimping, it is recommended to perform a pressure test of the entire heating circuit before its insulation and covering/filling. Installation, commissioning and any possible service may be carried out only by an authorized person with the appropriate authorization for the installation of heat pumps.
Common questions
Can this kit be combined with the threaded (Threaded) version? Yes, both kits use the same type of slip-on nut/sealing on the side of the unit, they differ only in the way of termination on the side of the distribution (crimping vs. screwing), so the choice depends on the preferred installation technology of the installer.
Is additional insulation required? The supplied insulation covers the connection itself; the remaining section of the pipe is insulated in the standard way according to the current thermal regulations.
Are sealing and connecting materials included? Yes, the kit is complete and ready for direct installation without the need to purchase additional small materials.
Operational and service recommendations
Although the crimped connection is considered permanent and maintenance-free, we recommend visually checking the condition of the insulation at the connection point (integrity of the Armaflex sleeve) and any signs of moisture or corrosion on the surrounding metal parts during the annual service inspection of the heat pump, which could indicate micro-leaks. Early detection of minor leaks saves costs on potential later repairs of a larger scope.
Related accessories
We recommend combining this connecting kit with a complete set for underfloor or wall installation (0010027971 / 0010027974) in the case where the route runs through the foundation or wall of the house, or with an extension part (0010027972) for longer routes. Warranty and professional installation
This product is covered by a warranty period of 24 months. We would like to point out that the installation of the connecting kits of the heating/cooling circuit of the heat pump must be carried out exclusively by a person with the appropriate authorization (e.g. a certificate of professional competence for the installation and service of heat pumps), as incorrect installation can lead not only to leaks, but also to the non-acceptance of the warranty on the entire device by the manufacturer.

The product is compact and is usually shipped as a standard parcel; when ordering together with other accessories (bases, covers for transitions), we recommend choosing a joint delivery for the installation company.
How to choose the right connecting kit
Vaillant offers several mutually interchangeable parts for connecting the outdoor unit aroTHERM plus to the heating water circuit, from which the installation company will assemble a complete route according to the specific building layout:
- Type of transition – through the foundation/ground (underfloor installation kit) or laterally through the wall of the house (wall installation kit) – the choice depends on the position of the unit relative to the house and the routing of the distribution in the project.
- Type of end connection to the distribution – crimp (pressfit, permanent and maintenance-free after crimping) or threaded/bolted (removable, does not require professional crimping tools).
- Need for route extension – when there is a greater distance between the unit and the transition point (e.g. when combined with an elevated base or when using a higher performance unit with a uniTOWER module), the basic kit is supplemented with an extension part.
All parts are designed so that together they form a continuous, thermally insulated and mechanically protected route that meets the requirements of current legislation for limiting heat losses through the building envelope. We recommend leaving the exact selection and combination of individual parts to the construction company based on the specifics of the building.
Installation procedure step by step
- Check the coaxiality and cleanliness of the sealing surfaces before connecting the hoses to the unit and to the distribution.
- Screw and tighten the slip-on nut with the flat sealing onto the connecting neck of the unit.
- Crimp the smooth end of the tube into the distribution pipe using a system crimping tool according to the manufacturer's instructions for the crimping system.
- Install the supplied thermal insulation on both ends of the connection.
- Perform a pressure test of the circuit before its final insulation and covering.
- After a successful test, complete the insulation and covering of the route.
