The Protherm GeniaAir Max HA 12-8.1 + hydraulic module + Mipro Sense set represents a complete solution for heating and hot water supply based on an air-to-water heat pump. The package includes the outdoor unit of the GeniaAir Max heat pump with the performance designation HA 12-8.1, a hydraulic module that ensures the connection between the outdoor and indoor parts of the system, and the Mipro Sense controller for operation control and settings.
The heat pump in this set uses the natural refrigerant R290 (propane), which is characterized by a very low global warming potential (GWP) and allows achieving high output water temperatures. Thanks to this, the heat pump is suitable not only for low-temperature systems such as floor heating, but also for buildings with conventional radiators.

Installation and compatibility
This set belongs to the GeniaAir Max range with a variant of the hydraulic module (not GeniaSet with a built-in tank). The outdoor and indoor units are connected directly via heating water, or optionally via an antifreeze mixture using a separating heat exchanger. The heat pump therefore does not require refrigerant piping between the outdoor and indoor parts, which simplifies installation.
- The set includes the outdoor unit GeniaAir Max HA 12-8.1, the hydraulic module, and the Mipro Sense controller.
- Due to the refrigerant R290 and the new safety concept, the protective zones around the outdoor unit are reduced (areas without windows, doors, basement shafts, and outdoor sockets), which facilitates the choice of installation location.
- The hot water tank and outdoor temperature sensor are not included in the delivery – in the case of additional regulation, we recommend the accessories listed below.
- The Mipro Sense controller is used for setting and controlling the operation of the heat pump; a compatible sensor MiPro Sense R is available for wireless extension into the interior.

About the company
The company Protherm Production is part of the Vaillant Group and is a manufacturer of heating technology for many countries in Europe, Asia and Africa. For the Slovak market, it produces boilers of the Vaillant and Protherm brands. Protherm Production is not only a production plant. It also includes one of the most modern research and development centres, a testing centre and a distribution and logistics centre for Central and Eastern Europe.
The company's beginnings date back to 1991, when it operated as a seller of heating technology in Prague. Production in Skalica was initially launched in the company Didaktik, from where it was moved to the premises of the current plant in 1999. Since 2001, it has been part of the German Vaillant Group.
Three Slovak entities: The Vaillant Group employs more than 1,800 people in Slovakia. In addition to the plant in Skalica, it also owns the company Vaillant Industrial Slovakia in Trenčianske Stankovce, which produces hydraulic modules and pipes. The sales organisation for the Slovak market is the company Vaillant Group Slovakia, which also ensures further customer care and servicing of the products offered.
The Vaillant Group has a history of over 140 years and more than 2,000 patents. It is a leader and pioneer in the field of heating technologies in Europe. It has 10 production plants worldwide (eight in Europe, one in Turkey and one in China) and more than 12,000 employees. It produces equipment under the brands Vaillant, Protherm, Saunier Duval, Bulex, AWB, DemirDöküm, Glow-Worm and Hermann.

Production
Protherm Production produces a wide range of boilers and hot water heating equipment. These include suspended and stationary, condensing and non-condensing boilers, electric boilers, electric water heaters for hot water preparation and indoor units of heat pumps. The most modern electronic work processes are used in Protherm Production, which makes it relatively easy to assemble heating equipment on the production lines. The work process on LCD screens guides employees through the entire assembly process, in both text and visual form. This intelligent electronic system makes production easier and helps avoid errors. In the case of incorrect use of components, it alerts us and stops the assembly of the product on the line.
The production halls of the plant in Skalica are bright, clean and quiet spaces. The goal of Protherm Production is to become a green production facility, so it invests significant financial resources into ecological solutions, innovations and focuses on energy saving.
Research and development centre
One of the most modern research and development centres in Europe is part of Protherm Production. The company can boast of a top-class research and development centre with powerful workstations, a modern laboratory and high-quality equipment. Members of the development team primarily contribute to innovations in current boilers and the introduction of new, more powerful modules. Ideas for new, more efficient products are born here, the design is optimised to improve quality while maintaining or reducing the price, taking into account new technologies and their implementation. In addition, existing boilers are further refined within the entire Vaillant group.
The main tasks of the research and development centre of the Protherm Production plant are the development of hydraulic modules for boilers, gas condensing and non-condensing boilers and electric boilers. We also find here the team of sustainable engineering (Sustaining Engineering) and the team of project and product management. The final form of the product is created thanks to the close cooperation of the development staff of the Protherm Production company with the developers from other companies in the group.
Recently, new departments have also been created within the research and development centre. One of them is the Intellectual Property Department, whose task is to register new patents. We have also expanded the group of simulation engineers, who are experts in CAE simulations.
The research and development centre currently has 63 employees. It also includes an expanded prototype workshop and a modern testing centre. What our developers design is assembled in the prototype workshop, tested in the laboratory and finally introduced into mass production.
